11. Mounting locations for smoke detectors
It is always recommended to install several smoke detectors in a building or in a flat.. In any case,
there should be one smoke detector per floor in multi-floor buildings.. Only in this manner can
effective warning be given in good time, in case of a fire braking out .
In all up to 16 RM50 type radio smoke detectors can be installed within the system.
Smoke detectors have to be installed in such a manner that they can secure the way to the bedroom
(entrance area, hall or staircase) and in case of an alarm can also be heard through the closed
bedroom door.

In case of operation in combination with the "AW50" alarm dialler, it should be
remembered that the smoke detector is located in the receiving area of the alarm dialler
device. Follow the operating instructions for the alarm dialler device.
When mounted in a room, this should always take place in
the centre of the ceiling.

When mounting in pointed roof space, the smoke
detector may not be fixed at the uppermost point
of the roof space as here there is hardly an air
movement. Mounting on a roof beam or a boom
would be ideal.
