10. Setting up and Installation

Once you have started to use the components of the system, as described in chapter 9, you can now
put/install the UV sensor and the temperature/air humidity sensor in a suitable place. Of course, the
same is the case for the base station.
When drilling or tightening screws, be careful not to damage any power supply
lines, gas or water pipes, as there may be life-threatening danger involved!

a) Base station

The base station can be installed in a suitable place via the base. This place must be horizontal,
sufficiently large, robust and even, it must furthermore be out of children's reach.
To wall mount it, there is a corresponding hole on the back of the base station. Doing this, the base
can be easily removed by pulling it downward.
The set up or installation site should be selected in a way that the base station is not in the proximity
of heaters or similar. Direct sunlight should be avoided by all means (the base station heats up and
the air temperature is therefore no longer measured in the room).
b) UV outdoor sensors
The UV sensor should not be set up behind or under glass panes, since this can have a variable
influence on UV radiation and therefore make the reading useless.
You can, for example, set up the UV sensor in a protected place on the balcony or in the garden. It
should be located freely and not be covered by plants, trees or buildings. When choosing an
installation site, also think about theft protection and playing children.
The UV sensor must not be located in or under water.
When tightening the support or when inserting the earth spike, attention needs
to paid not to damage any lines (power) or pipes (gas or water).

c) Outdoor sensor for temperature/air humidity

Fix it in a protected area outdoors, in a place that is in the shade all day long. Otherwise the
temperature reading will be useless because of the solar radiation.
The same is the case if there is rain or snow on the sensor for a longer period of time (in this case
the temperature sensor would no longer measure the air temperature).
Due to the integrated display it makes sense to choose an installation site where the display can be
read, for example, through a window.
