15. Handling

Take note of all the safety instructions in these operating instructions!
a) General information
The product must not be opened or taken apart (apart from the battery exchange, described in these
operating instructions).
There are no serviceable parts inside the product. If you open/take apart the device, the license (CE)
and the guarantee/warrantee expires as well.
Even a fall from a low height can damage the product.
b) Base station
Avoid the following adverse environmental condition when operating the base station:
- wetness or too high air humidity
- extreme hot and cold temperatures
- direct sunlight
- dust or flammable gases, fumes or solvents
- strong vibrations
- strong magnetic fields such as near machines or loudspeakers
Never use the product immediately after it has been brought from a cold room into a warm one.
Condensation water that forms might destroy your device.
Wait until the base station has reached room temperature. This can take several hours.
The installation site should be chosen in a way so that the base station has a firm position and cannot
fall down. Because of the heavy weight there is a risk of injuries.
Valuable or scratch sensitive furniture surfaces should be protected from damage with suitable
covers, before you put the base station on it.

c) Outdoor sensors

The outdoor sensors are suitable to be used in a protected outdoor area. However, you should
definitely avoid direct splashing, eg from a garden hose or another irrigation system. Do not use the
outdoor sensor in or under water!
