11. Installation and Mounting

Once you have started to use the components of the system as described in Chapter 9, you
can now mount/install the weather station and the outdoor sensor in a suitable place on stands
or use a wall hook / screw to mount it on the wall.
Pay attention when drilling/tightening the screws that no power, gas or water pipes
can be damaged!
Before you can undertake wall mounting, you should find out whether there is
faultless radio data reception at the mounting site (DCF signal for the weather
station and the radio signal from the outdoor sensors).

a) Weather station

The weather station can be installed in a suitable place using the fold-out base foot (14). This
must be horizontal, sufficiently large, stable and even, and should also be out of the reach of
children.
For wall mounting, there is a corresponding opening (9) on the back of the weather station. The
base foot can be folded back in easily.
The installation and mounting location should not be next to radiators or heaters, windows or
doors. Direct sunlight should also be avoided. The weather station will not measure the actual
room temperature in such places.

b) Outdoor sensor

Position the outdoor sensor in a protected area outdoors, in a place that is in the shade all day
long. Otherwise, the measured ^temperature value can be distorted by sunshine, rain or snow.
Do not expose the outdoor sensor directly to rain, do not use the outdoor sensor in
or under water - it might be destroyed!
Due to the integrated display, it would be practical to select the mounting location where the
display can be read off, e.g. through a window.
For the installation you can simply fold out the base foot on the bottom of the outdoor sensor
(21), for wall mounting there is a corresponding opening (17).
