9. Preparations and Getting Started

Please note:
First of all insert the batteries into all available sensors (UV sensor and outdoor
sensor for temperature/air humidity) and only then insert batteries into base
station.
If you proceed in a different sequence it may happen that the base station does
not recognise the existing sensors!
If you want to try the product out when you first use it, eg in a room, you should not place the individual
devices (base station, UV sensor, outdoor sensor) directly next to each other. Otherwise there may
be reception problems due to radio interferences. Keep a distance of at least 1m between the
individual devices.
This function test makes sure that later reception problems can be attributed to the arrangement of
base station, UV sensor and outdoor sensor(s).
a) Getting started with outdoor temperature/air humidity
sensor
• Open the battery compartment of the outdoor temperature/air humidity
sensor by unscrewing the four screws on the back with a suitable
screwdriver, see illustration on the right.
• Choose one of the three transmission channels (1,2 or 3) with the
"CHANNEL" sliding switch, located above the battery compartment.
If only one outdoor sensor is used, this setting is irrelevant.
The base station will only show lines for the non-existing
sensors on the respective display field of the LC display for
outdoor temperature and outdoor air humidity.
It is imperative that you set the transmission channel before
inserting the batteries. If not, the change to another channel will
not be recognised.
