11. Set-up & Installation
Once you have started to use the components of the system as described in Chapter 9, you
can now put/install the outdoor sensor in a suitable place. Of course, the same applies to the
weather station.
When drilling/tightening, be careful not to damage any power supply lines, gas
or water pipes, as there may be life-threatening danger involved!
Before screwing in a screw or hook for wall mounting or before you drill a hole
for a dowel, you should check if there is a faultless reception of radio data
possible at the mounting location (DCF data or readings of the outdoor
sensor(s)).

a) Weather station

The weather station can be installed in a suitable place via the foot (F). This place must be
horizontal, sufficiently large, robust and even, it must furthermore be out of reach of children.
An suitable hole (G) is available on the back of the weather station, this is where you can hang
the weather station, for example, on a nail or a screw. The foot (F) has to be removed
beforehand, pull it downwards.
The set up or installation site should be selected in a way that the weather station is not in the
proximity of heaters or electric devices.
Direct sunlight should also be avoided (the weather station gets warm, this means that the air
temperature in the room is no longer measured) as well as the installation right next to a door
or a window (draft).

b) Outdoor sensor

Do not expose the outdoor sensor directly to rain, do not use the outdoor sensor
in or under water - it might be destroyed!
The outdoor sensor is only splash proof, do not operate it in a way that water
can get underneath into the battery compartment (the openings on the bottom
near the battery compartment are also for measuring the temperature and air
humidity). To do this, the battery compartment has to point vertically towards
the bottom.
Fix the outdoor sensor in a protected area outdoors, in a place that is in the shade all day long.
Otherwise the temperature reading will be useless because of the direct sunlight. Due to the
