• You can switch between the temperature/air humidity sensor in the base station and up to three
outdoor sensors by briefly pressing the "CHANNEL" button. The respective channel number is
displayed (or "IN" is displayed for base station sensors).
• At the very bottom of the base station display, the current time/date should now be shown.
The radio-controlled clock which is integrated in the base station is able to receive and interpret
the so called DCF signal. This is a signal which is sent by a transmitter. Its reach is up to 1500km,
if transmission conditions are ideal even up to 2000km.
Among other things, the DCF signal includes the precise time (theoretical deviation of 1 second
in a million years!) and the date.
Clocks with a DCF receiver can receive the signal and interpret it. This means there is no manual
setting of a radio-controlled clock necessary, not even during the change between summer and
winter time.
A radio-controlled clock does not transmit signals but receives the DCF signal and interprets it.
A bad reception of the DCF signal can be caused by, eg well shielded rooms or buildings
or perhaps by metallized insulated glass, coated special wallpaper or a particular
construction design (reinforced concrete).
The reception is also made worse by the proximity of the base station to electric/electronic
devices (televisions, computers). The same is the case of proximity to large metal objects
(washing machines, tumble driers, fridges, steel doors).
Change the place of installation of the base station when it has not yet received a DCF time after
10-30 minutes. A new reception trial can be started manually.
Press the "+" button on the bottom right hand side of the base station for a longer period of time.
If the radio tower icon disappears on the bottom on the left, the DCF reception is switched off. In
this case you have to release the "+" button and press it again for a longer period of time until the
radio tower icon appears and flashes. Now there is a new reception trial (this can take approx. 3-
10 minutes).
