Note!
In the basic menu, when an arrow is displayed after a symbol, e.g.
"P-H>", this means that sub-functions (sub-menus) can be called.
Attention!!!
Observe the maximum permitted input levels without fail! Take care
when handling voltages greater than 25 VAC rms / DC: touching electri-
cal circuits can endanger life due to electric shock!
Before changing to another measurement function, the test leads are to
be disconnected from the object being measured and removed from the
measuring instrument!
Use only the supplied test leads and optional adapters for your measu-
rements. Before connecting, always check the condition of the connec-
ting plug and test probes and check the insulation for damage. The test
leads, but not the adapters, are approved for voltages up to 1000 V max.
The GDM-703 measuring instrument is designed for voltages to 1000
VDC max. or 700 VAC rms max. Take particular care when dealing with
voltages greater than 25 VAC or 35 V DC.

5.1 AC voltage measurement

For measurement of AC voltages up to 700 VAC rms max., proceed as
follows:
a) Set the rotary switch to "~V"
b) Connect the black test lead to the measuring instrument "COM"
socket and the red test lead to the "V•Ω•Hz" socket
c) A bar graph is active at the left-hand edge of the screen during mea-
surements, being a high-speed analogue indicator. The bar graph
operates as a trend indicator.
d) Connect the test leads to the object being measured and, if required,
follow the given button inputs to select the available sub-functions:
REL Press button "F1" to set the present indication to "0", i.e. all the fol-
lowing measurements are with reference to "0 V". Their difference
from the set "zero point" is displayed. During this function the sym-
bol "REL" flashes. To switch off the function, press button F1 once
(flashing stops).

P-H In the "Peak Hold" function, the highest ("MAX") and lowest
("MIN") voltage peak values occurring at any time are captured and
indicated. The present measured value always appears In the upper
line of the display (the Peak Hold function can only be called in digi-
tal mode). In the basic menu press button "F2".

dB dB value measurements are also possible with this measuring instru-
ment. The input resistance is established in this connection within
the "INSTALL" function (described under 5.11) and is adjustable
from 2 Ohm to 1 KOhm. The input resistance set at any time is indi-
cated at the top left of the display. "0 dB" corresponds to 0.775 V
rms into 600 Ohm.
To carry out frequency measurement (Hz) or pulse/interval measurement
(Duty) or pulse width measurement (delta t) or period measurement
(delta T), press the "Hz" button (see under 4.4.5).
If the graphical display is preferred, press the "MODE" button once (see
under 4.4.3).
5.2 Direct voltage measurement (VDC)
For measurement of DC voltages up to 1000 VDC max. proceed as follows:
a) Set the rotary switch to "=V"
