The software buttons (F1 to F4) are operated in accordance with the fol-
lowing illustration:

While measuring AC voltage for example, pressing button F3 or F4 selec-
ts either Single mode (=F3) or Glitch mode (=F4), i.e. the first line disap-
pears and the second line appears in the display. Observe the second line.
Button F1 resets the measurement function or the screen contents. In
Single or Glitch mode, buttons F2 or F3 can be used to adjust the time
base per division up or down. To quit the sub-menu and return to the
first line, press button F4.
Pressing button F2 while in the basic menu replaces the first line with the
second line. With this sub-function the present measurement is
frozen/stored. Now, with buttons F1 and F2, the screen contents of about
two screen "pages" can be scrolled from left to right or vice versa and
viewed at leisure. To quit this sub-function and return to the basic menu
(first line), press button F4 (EXIT).
Pressing button F1 while in the basic menu replaces the first line with the
fourth line. With this sub-function the time base can be adjusted. With
buttons F1 or F2 the time base can be adjusted from 10µs to 1.31s/div.
The "1.31s/div" setting can be compared with the "roll" function of a
storage oscilloscope, in that single signals (such as voltage jumps or
collapses) are easily displayed with a "slow" time base. To quit this sub-
function, press button F4.
4.4.4 HOLD
The "HOLD" button must be pressed once when test records are to be
kept and the instantaneously-measured value is to be noted down befo-

re it changes again. By pressing the "HOLD" button, the present measu-
rement value or the complete screen is held, or "frozen". The symbol
"HOLD" appears at the top edge of the screen (in DMM mode only). In
this condition, other than the Hold button none of the remaining but-
tons has any influence on the setting(s).
To release the frozen measurement again, press the "HOLD" button
once more. The (new) instantaneously-measured value is displayed.
4.4.5 "HZ"/"MODE" button
n "~V", "=V", "mV/Hi-Z" and "_=A" functions, pressing the button
"MODE" or "HZ" longer than about 3 seconds activates the frequency
measurement function.
This means just one press of the button "HZ" ("MODE") moves from vol-
tage/current measurement to frequency measurement and back each
time.
When software buttons F1 to F4 are pressed during frequency measure-
ment, various sub-menus are selected:
F1 Press button F1 to activate Trigger mode. Now pressing button F1 sel-
ects between triggering on the positive edge ("+") of the signal being
measured or the negative edge ("-"). Using buttons F2 and F3 (up and
down) in the "TRIG" sub-menu changes the trigger point from 5% to
95%. To quit the "TRIG" sub-menu press button F4.
F2 Press button F2 to select Duty mode. With this function the
pulse/interval ratio of a signal being measured is displayed in "%".
F3 Press button F3 to display the pulse width (in ms) of the signal being
measured instead of frequency
F4 Press button F4 to display the period (in ms) of the signal being mea-
sured instead of frequency.
4.4.6 MIN / MAX
To capture the highest- and lowest-occurring values (="MAX"/"MIN"
values) of a constantly-changing measurement, press the "P-H>"
("Menu" = "F-") button during measurement.
Clearly and above all simultaneously, the instantaneously-measured
value, the maximum value (centre sub-display) and the minimum value
(right sub-display) are now displayed on the whole screen area.
