Important!
Never
exceed
the
max.
600 AACrms max., whereby voltage must never exceed
600 VACrms! The frequency of the alternating parameter must
never exceed 400 Hz! Never touch circuits or circuit components
which might be under voltages higher than 25 VACrms or
35 VDC! Potentially lethal hazard!!!

5.2 Current Measurement

Measure AC currents as follows (please study the diagrams
below). An arrow marked on the „clamp head" is a symbol for
the direction of current flow.
a) Switch on the clamp-on ammeter.
b) Open the clamp-on ammeter using the clamp-opening lever.
When measuring AC current, grip an insulated conductor in
a one-phase system or several insulated conductors in a
multi-phase system.
Important!
Just under the clamp opening there is a contact insulation con-
sisting of a thick-layer of plastic. When measuring/gripping a
conductor or conductor rail, never grip beyond the contact insu-
lation - POTENTIALLY LETHAL HAZARD !!!
c) Close the clamp around the current-carrying conductor by
releasing the clamp-opening lever. The contact surfaces of
the clamp must be safely closed, and the conductor(s) must
be able to move in the clamp opening. When reading off
values, check that the conductor is centrally located, i.e. bet-
ween the lines marked.

Important!
Do not measure currents in circuits where voltages greater than
600 VACrms can occur, since otherwise there is a potentially let-
hal hazard. Never measure currents in excess of 600 Arms.

5.3 Alternating Current (AC) Measurement

5.3.1 Connecting the Measuring Cables

Always use the measuring cables supplied for your measure-
ments. Before connecting, always check the insulation of the
connectors or measurement probes for damage. These measure-
ment cables meet the requirements for voltages up to 600 V
max.. For voltage measurement, your clamp-on ammeter is desi-
gned for voltages up to 600 VACrms max.. Take special precauti-
ons when measuring voltages greater than 25 V AC/ 35 V DC.
Connect the red measuring cable to the VΩHz socket and the
black measuring cable to the COM socket.
Important!
Never exceed the max. input parameters. Otherwise damage to
the device may occur and there is a potentially lethal hazard.
