Please read these operating instructions thoroughly. Damage arising
from failure to observe the operating instructions will void any guaran-
tee claims. Failure to observe the instructions may also endanger life!
We accept no liability for consequential damage resulting from this. It is
assumed that the user has basic knowledge of handling measuring
instruments and PCs. Keep these operating instructions in a safe place.

1. The intended uses of the measuring instru-
ment are:
• DC voltage measurements to 1000 V DC max.
• TRUE RMS AC voltage measurement to 700 VAC rms max.
• DC or AC current measurements up to 20 A max.
• Capacity measurements up to 4000 µF max.
• Frequency measurements up to 100 MHz max.
• Resistance measurements up to 40 MOhm max.
• Continuity testing, diode testing
• A measurement must not be performed under unfavourable ambient
conditions. Unfavourable ambient conditions include:
- moisture or excessive humidity,
Page
- dust and combustible gases, fumes or solvents,
- thunderstorms or storm conditions such as strong electrostatic fields,
etc.
Any use other than as described above can lead to damage to the instru-
ment; in addition this is accompanied by dangers such as short circuit,
fire, electric shock, etc. No part of the product may be modified or con-
verted! The safety instructions are to be followed without fail!
2. Introduction and presentation
The Graphical Display Meter GDM-703 is a combination of a digital mul-
timeter and an oscilloscope. It is possible to display for example graphs
or AC signals graphically on a dot-matrix screen of 128 x 64 pixels and
simultaneously to read off the prevailing voltage directly. All measure-
ment functions and the corresponding measurement ranges are directly
displayed in graphical mode. Through the use of rechargeable batteries
the otherwise usual battery replacement is no longer needed. After char-
ging, an operating time of up to 6 hours is possible. The measuring
instrument can however be operated directly via the in-plug AC
supply/charging adapter.
The unit has an AUTO RANGE feature, such that with different measure-
ments the currently correct measurement range is always set. This
"AUTO" function can be switched off so that the ranges can be set
manually. With the "MEMORY" function up to 15 measured signals can
be stored and later recalled. If the measuring instrument is switched off,
the memory contents are retained.
