When connecting several devices in parallel using 3-state BCD output (wired OR connection)
If 3-state output mode in which data is not output is used for BCD output normally, multiple devices can be connected in
parallel. (Refer to the next page.)
• Connect each bit of the data and the sign in parallel.
• Connect the READY signal for each device separately.
• Also connect each of the DRQ inputs separately.
• Do not allow DRQ signals from multiple devices to be input simultaneously. Doing so could result in misoperation or
damage to the expansion unit.
• Do not use the soldering land during internal +5 V operation. (Refer to the "When using at TTL level" diagram shown on the
previous page.) Doing so will lower the total resistance of the signals that are connected in parallel, causing a large current
flow that will damage the device.
• Do not use this device in parallel in a mode that is not a 3-state or high-speed output mode. Doing so will result in output
to multiple devices and may cause damage.
• Pull-up resistors that produce the reference voltage are required on the input side of the connected devices.
