Push the MENU CANCEL/ITEM switch
repeatedly toward the ITEM position until the
cursor is positioned to the left of the ID (of ID 1 to
ID 4) you wish to set (or use the rotary encoder).
Next, pressing the rotary encoder displays the
selected shot ID, and a down-arrow cursor appears
in the character input position (character setting
mode).

Press the rotary encoder until the character input
position is at the character you wish to change.
Each time you press the rotary encoder the down-
arrow cursor moves one character position to the
right. If you press the rotary encoder when the
cursor is at the rightmost character, the cursor
disappears, and the character input mode ends.

Turn the rotary encoder to cycle through the
character set until the desired character appears.
Turning the rotary encoder clockwise cycles the
character set in the sequence of space (π),
alphabetic characters A to Z, numerals 0 to 9, then
symbols. Turning the rotary encoder
counterclockwise cycles the character set in the
opposite direction.
When there is a character at the cursor position,
you can also enter a space by pushing the MENU
CANCEL/ITEM switch to CANCEL.
To enter another character, go on to step 6; to stop
entering characters, jump to step 7.

Press the MENU CANCEL/ITEM switch to ITEM
(or turn the rotary encoder) to move the cursor to
the next position, then return to step 5 to enter the
next character.

To end the menu operation, return the MENU ON/
OFF/PAGE switch to OFF.
The setup menu disappears from the viewfinder
screen.
Deleting a character
Follow the procedure below.

Press the rotary encoder repeatedly until the cursor
moves to the position of the character to be
deleted.

Press the MENU CANCEL/ITEM switch to
CANCEL.
The character is deleted.
To delete the next character on the left
Press the MENU/CANCEL/ITEM switch to
CANCEL again.

Shot Data
In the setup menu SHOT DATA DISP page, you can
select which shot data is recorded superimposed on the
picture. You can also select which of the shot IDs (1
to 4) set in the SHOT DATA page is recorded
superimposed on the picture.
