3-3 Audio Input System

3-3-1 Using the Video Camera
Microphone
Attach the video camera, and set the AUDIO IN
switch for the channel on which you wish to record the
camera microphone audio to the FRONT position.
3-3-2 Using an External
Microphone
You can connect up to two external microphones,
using the AUDIO IN CH-1 and CH-2 connectors.
When you use an external power supply type
microphone, set the LINE/MIC/+48 V ON selector for
the appropriate AUDIO IN connector to +48 V ON.
If a microphone you use is not the external power
supply type, set the LINE/MIC/+48 V ON selector to
MIC.
Set the LINE/MIC/+48 V
ON selector to +48 V
ON if you use an
external power supply
type microphone.
Otherwise, set the
selector to MIC.

Using an external microphone

Note
You can only connect an external power supply type
microphone to the MIC IN connector.

3-3-3 Attaching a UHF Portable
Tuner (for a UHF Wireless

Microphone System)

To use a Sony UHF wireless microphone system, fit
one of the following UHF portable tuners:
• WRR-855A UHF Synthesized Tuner Unit
• WRR-28M/810A/860A UHF Portable Tuner
For each of these UHF portable tuners, use the
following attachment procedure. (For the WRR-
28M/810A/860A UHF Portable Tuner, the WRR-
28M is taken as an example.)
Read this description in conjunction with the operating
instructions for the UHF portable tuner.
Fitting the WRR-855A
You can use the WRR-855A UHF Synthesized Tuner
Unit simply by inserting it into the slot in the DNV-5,
and fastening the fixing screws.

Remove the four fixing screws holding the cover
of the slot, and remove the cover.
Not to lose the removed cover, attach it to the
bottom of the DNV-5 using the removed fixing
screws.
