NOTE
With high outside temperatures, it may be necessary
to start the engine without the choke (8) even when
the engine is cold!
CAUTION!
If the throttle lever (5) is actuated together with the
throttle lever lock (6), the engine speed increases and
the cutting wheel (16) starts to rotate.
Starting the engine when warm
(The product stood still for less than 15-20 min-
utes.)
• Set the cutter down on a firm and level surface.
• Switch the ON/OFF switch (9) to "I".
• Place the tip of your shoe in the rear handle (7)
(see Fig. 8).
• Hold the cutter firmly by the front handle (1) and pull
the start pull cord (11) out slowly until you feel the
first resistance.
• Now pull the start pull cord (11) quickly. The prod-
uct should start after 1-2 pulls. If the product has
still not started after 6 pulls, repeat the process de-
scribed under "Starting the engine when cold".
If the engine does not start even after several at-
tempts, read the "Troubleshooting" chapter.
8.2 Shutting the engine off
Emergency stop procedure
If it is necessary to stop the device immediately, set
the ON/OFF switch (9) to "0".
Normal procedure
• Release the throttle (5). The engine goes into idle
speed.
• Then set the ON/OFF switch (9) to "0".
• Wait until the abrasive cutting wheel has come to
a standstill.
8.3 Adjusting the cutting wheel guard (13) (Fig. 10)
nWARNING
Only adjust the cutting wheel guard (13) when the
engine is switched off!
Make sure the cutting wheel guard is correctly
positioned and fixed. This includes the use of
shims, the selection of suitable flanges and com-
pliance with the correct tightening torque.
When working in different positions, it may be neces-
sary to adjust the cutting wheel guard (13) according-
ly. To do this, proceed as follows:

1. Remove the front belt cover (22) by loosening the
two Allen screws (22a) using the 4 mm Allen key
(37).
2. Loosen the Allen screws (27a) with the 5 mm
Allen key (36).
3. Hold the cutting wheel guard (13) by the handle
and pull it forwards or backwards to set it to the
desired position.
4. Tighten the Allen screws (27a) again and fit the
front belt cover (22).
Note:
Adjust the cutting wheel guard so that the cutting
residue is guided away from the operator. This
contributes to the safety of the operator and reduces
the risk of injury from flying particles.
8.4 Operating while idle
m ATTENTION
When idling, the diamond abrasive cutting wheel (16)
must be stationary. Check or correct the idle setting
regularly. If the cutting wheel still rotates with the en-
gine at idle, have it repaired by a specialist dealer.
NOTE
If the diamond abrasive cutting wheel (16) moves at
idle or the engine stops by itself when the throttle is
released, a carburettor adjustment must be made.
• Use the left hand to hold the front handle (1) firmly.
• Use the right hand to hold the rear handle (7) firmly.
The heel of the hand rests on the throttle interlock
(6) and the index finger operates the throttle lever
(5) (see Fig. 9).
• After actuating the throttle lever (5) once, the en-
gine runs at idle speed.
• Allow the engine to warm up briefly.

9.1 Use and handling
• Before starting, check the condition of the product,
in particular the cutting wheel, the cutting wheel
guard and the fuel lines.
• Maintain the product carefully. Check for misalign-
ment or binding of moving parts, breakage of parts
and any other condition that may affect the prod-
uct's operation. Have damaged parts repaired be-
fore using the product. Many accidents are caused
by poorly maintained products.
• Keep cutting tools sharp and clean. Properly main-
tained cutting tools with sharp cutting edges are
less likely to bind and are easier to control.
