It is mandatory to carefully check the product for
any damage before each use or after it has been
dropped. If damage is identified, it must be rectified
immediately by you or an authorised service centre.
Prior to every start-up of the product, check the fol-
lowing points:
• Before starting work, check the work area for any
hazards (electrical cables, flammable substances).
Clearly mark the work area (e.g. put up warning
signs or barriers).
• Correct fit and direction of rotation of the abrasive
cutting wheel
• Check diamond cutting wheel for damage
• Function of the clutch (no abrasive cutting wheel
movement when engine at idle)
• Function of the on/off switch
• Leak-tightness of the fuel system
• Faultless condition and completeness of the guards
and the cutting device
• Tight fit of all screw connections
• Smooth running of all moving parts
NOTE
The product does not have a starting throttle lock.
Cutting metals
mATTENTION!
Wear proper respiratory protection!
The cutting of materials that may release toxic sub-
stances may only be carried out after notification and
under the supervision of the responsible authorities
or the authorised person.
mCAUTION!
Metals are heated and melted at the point of contact
by the rapid rotation of the cutting wheel. Swivel the
cutting wheel guard down as far as possible to direct
the flying sparks forwards, away from the operator
(increased risk of fire!).
• Determine the kerf, mark it and bring the cutting
wheel up to the material at medium speed and only
continue cutting at full throttle and increased pres-
sure once a guide groove has been cut.
• Only cut straight and vertically and do not tilt, other-
wise the wheel may break.
• A safe and smooth cut is best achieved by pulling
or moving the product back and forth. Do not push
the cutting wheel into the material.
• Solid round bars are best cut in stages.
• Thin pipes can simply be cut with a descending cut.
• Treat pipes with a large diameter like solid rods. To
avoid jamming and for better control of the cutting
process, do not allow the cutting wheel to sink too
deeply into the material. Always cut flat all round.
• Worn cutting wheels with a small diameter have
a lower peripheral speed at the same rotational
speed and therefore do not cut as well.
• Cut I-beams or angle steel in steps,
• Strip steel or steel plates are cut like pipes; flat
drawing, with a long cutting surface.
• Always notch material that is tensioned (supported
or walled-in material) slightly on the pressure side
first and then cut through from the tension side so
that the cutting wheel does not jam. Secure materi-
al to be cut off against falling!
8.1 Starting the engine (Fig. 6- 9)
m ATTENTION
Move at least 3 meters away from the refuelling area
before starting the engine. (Fig. 6)
Always pull the start pull cord (11) out straight. Hold
the handle of the start pull cord (11) firmly when the
pull cord (11) winds back in. Never let the start pull
cord (11) whip back in.
NOTE
The product does not have a starting throttle lock.
• Therefore, only deactivate a pulled cold start lever (
) (choke) (8) using the throttle lock (6) and throttle
lever (5).
• The cold start lever (choke) (8) will then automatically
spring back to the "warm start" operating position.
• Do not push a pulled cold start lever ( ) (choke) (8)
back to the "warm start" position by hand, otherwise
the engine could start with increased idling.
Starting the engine when cold
m ATTENTION
Never allow the start pull cord (11) to spin back. This
can result in damage.
• Set the cutter down on a firm and level surface.
• Switch the ON/OFF switch (9) to "I".
• Pull out the cold start (choke) lever (8) ( ).
• Place the tip of your shoe in the rear handle (7)
(see Fig. 8).
• Hold the cutter firmly by the front handle (1) and pull
the start pull cord (11) out slowly until you feel the
first resistance.
• Now pull the start pull cord (11) and the engine
should start. If the engine does not start, repeat the
process. So long as the cold start (choke) (8) lever
is pulled out ( ), the engine will run for only a short
time and then stop.
• As soon as the engine has stopped, actuate the
throttle interlock (6) and the throttle (5) together.
The cold start (choke) lever (8) will automatically
spring back to the "warm start" operating position.
• Now pull the start pull cord (11) again and the en-
gine should start.

tempts, read the "Troubleshooting" chapter.
