Preparation

4.1

Power supply

An internal LiPo battery serves as the power supply. With a fully charged battery, a runtime of
approx. 8 ... 10 hours is possible, depending on the display brightness. The battery is charged via
the USB port at the bottom of the meter and appropriate USB chargers can be used. The charging
process can be shortened by switching off the meter during the charging process.
The current battery charge level is displayed in the status bar at the top right. As soon as the
battery charge level is no longer sufficient for proper operation of the instrument, it switches off
automatically and the screen shown below is displayed.
4.2

Start-up

4.2.1 Switch on
The meter is switched on by holding down the on/off key for approx. 5 seconds. When the meter
is switched on, the start screen with the PCE logo appears for approx. 1 second and then the
device switches to the measurement screen.
4.2.2 Switch off
To switch off the meter, press and hold the on/off key for approx. 3 seconds. A dialogue appears
on the screen with a countdown that announces that the meter is to be switched off.
4.2.3 Sensor connection (for force gauges with external measuring cell)
The load cell is screwed to the meter by means of the test cable. Connect the test cable to the
meter via the plug connection and then secure it with the knurled nut.
4.2.4 Sensor disconnection
The load cell and the meter are disconnected by unlocking the knurled nut and then removing the
plug of the test cable from the meter. Then loosen the screw connection between the load cell
and the test cable.
