15 Guarantee
Manufacturer's guarantee

15.1 Scope of the guarantee
Truma, as the manufacturer of the device designated
in the operating instructions, voluntarily grants the
consumer a guarantee that covers any material and/or
manufacturing defects in the device.
This guarantee is valid in the member states of the
European Union as well as in the United Kingdom,
Iceland, Norway, Switzerland and Turkey.
This guarantee covers any of the aforementioned
defects that occur within 24 months upon concluding
the purchase agreement between the Seller and
the Consumer. A Consumer is the natural person
who was the first one to purchase the device from
the manufacturer, OEM or dealer and who neither
resold the device in a commercial or self-employed
professional capacity nor installed it for a third party in
such a capacity.
The manufacturer or a service partner authorised
by Truma shall remedy such defects by means of
subsequent fulfilment, i.e. at its discretion by repairing
or replacement delivery, unless one of the reasons for
exclusion listed below applies.
At the discretion of the manufacturer or a service
partner authorised by Truma, the replacement of the
product or parts thereof may also be replaced with
previously installed or used parts that are equivalent in
performance to new parts.
Defective or exchanged parts or devices shall become
the property of the manufacturer or the service
partner authorised by Truma. If the device is no longer
manufactured at the time of defect notification and
if replacement delivery has been opted for, then the
manufacturer may deliver a similar product.
If the manufacturer remedies a defect under this
guarantee, the term of the guarantee shall not start
again with regard to the repaired or exchanged parts;
rather, the original guarantee period shall continue to
be applicable to the device. Only the manufacturer itself
or a service partner authorised by Truma is entitled
to conduct guarantee jobs. The costs incurred in the
event of a guarantee case are settled directly between
the service partner authorised by Truma and the
manufacturer. The guarantee does not cover additional
costs arising from complicated removal or installation
jobs on the unit (e.g. dismantling of furnishings or parts
of the vehicle body), and neither does it cover travel
expenses incurred by the authorised service partner or
Truma.
Further claims arising from this guarantee, in particular
claims for damages by the consumer or third parties,
are excluded. This shall not affect the regulations of the
German Product Liability Act (Produkthaftungsgesetz).
The legal warranty claims for defects of the consumer
against the Seller in the respective country of purchase
are not limited by this guarantee and may be asserted
free of charge independently of this guarantee.

In countries outside the European Union, these statutory
guarantee claims are governed by the regulations of
the country in which the consumer first purchased the
device.
In individual countries, there may be additional
guarantees issued by the respective specialist dealer
(official distributor, Truma Partner). In such cases the
guarantee can be implemented directly through the
dealer from whom the consumer bought the device.
The guarantee regulations of the country in which the
device was purchased by the consumer for the first
time shall also be applicable.
15.2 Exclusion of guarantee
There is no guarantee claim under this guarantee:
as a result of improper, not suitable, faulty, negligent
•
or not compliant with the intended use or handling
of the device;
Improper installation, assembly or commissioning,
•
contrary to operating or installation instructions;
as a result of improper operation, improper
•
handling or operation contrary to the operating
and installation instructions, in particular disregard
of maintenance, care or warning notes, or the
operation of defective devices;
if installations, removals, repairs or other
•
interventions are carried out by unauthorised
persons or by the consumer themselves;
Consumable materials and parts which are subject
•
to natural wear and tear;
if the device is fitted with spare, supplementary
•
or accessory parts that are not original parts of
the manufacturer or have not been approved by
the manufacturer; this applies in particular in the
case of networked control of the device, if the
control units, operating parts and software have
not been approved by Truma or if the Truma control
unit or the Truma operating part (Truma CP plus,
Truma iNet Box, Truma iNet X Pro Panel, Truma
iNet X Panel, Truma iNet X Connect, Truma iNet X
Interface, or similar) is not used exclusively for the
control and operation of Truma devices or devices
approved by Truma.similar) is not used exclusively

as a result of damage caused by foreign substances

(e.g. oils, plasticisers in the gas), chemical or
electrochemical influences in the water or if the
device has otherwise come into contact with
substances that are not suitable (e.g. chemical
products, flammable substances, not suitable
cleaning agents);
Damage caused by abnormal environmental or
•
unsuitable operating conditions;
as a result of damage caused by force majeure or
•
natural disasters, as well as other influences for
which the manufacturer is not responsible;
Damage resulting from improper transport;
•
as a result of modifications to the device, including
•
spare, supplementary or accessory parts and their
installation, modifications in particular to the exhaust
