Cleaning and care
WARNING
There is a risk of falling when working on
vehicle roofs.
Vehicle roofs can be very slippery due to
wetness, icing or dirt (e.g. damp leaves).
Wear fall protection / safety harness.
Work from a scaffold or a stable ladder next
to the vehicle.
Wear sturdy, non-slip shoes.
Get a second person to help.
When cleaning the vehicle with a high-pressure hose,
for example, make sure that you do not spray any water
into the air conditioning system.
NOTICE
Water in the air conditioning system can
cause damage and malfunctions.
Do not clean the air conditioning system
with a hot or steam cleaner or high-pressure
cleaner.
When cleaning the vehicle with a hot/steam
cleaner or high-pressure cleaner, do not
spray directly into the openings of the air
conditioning system.
Do not use aggressive cleaning agents or sharp objects.
Use a soft, damp cloth to clean the air conditioning
system.
Do not use petrol, diesel, solvents, chemical cleaners,
alcohol, surfactants or plasticisers as cleaning agents.

Cleaning the panels in the air
distributor
Depending on the intensity of use, the panels in the air
distributor must be cleaned. We recommend that this is
done at least every 12 months.
NOTICE
Operation without panels in the air
distributor leads to damage and loss of
performance of the air conditioning system
For trouble-free operation, operate the air
conditioning system only with panels.
Before operation, ensure that panels are
inserted in the air distributor.
Pull both panels off the side of the air distributor
(Fig. 11-1).

Remove both panels from the bottom of the air
distributor (Fig. 11-2). To do this, reach into the
opening in the side panel and push the lower panel
out from the inside.
Wash the panels under running water.
Allow the panels to dry.
Reattach the panels to the air distributor. To do
this, push the panels onto the side and bottom of
the latches and clip them into place. First insert
the lower panels on the inside of the air distributor
(Fig. 12-1), then press in on the outside and snap
into place (Fig. 12-1).

8.2
Keeping air inlets and outlets clear
8.2.1 External unit clearance
The air conditioning system draws in cooling air on
both sides of the roof and blows it out to the rear after
it has passed through the heat exchanger. To ensure
safe operation, the air inlets and outlets must not be
obstructed or adjusted. They must be kept free of dirt
or leaves, for example, to ensure optimum performance
and air flow. Otherwise, the function of the air
conditioning system will be impaired and damage may
occur.
Keep openings clear of snow during winter operation.
