Safety instructions
3.1
General safety
Ignoring the regulations in the operating instructions can
lead to serious material damage or serious risks for the
health or life of people.
Read and closely follow the safety precautions to
prevent risks and damage to humans and property.
Observe local laws, guidelines and standards
associated with the use and operation of the air
conditioning system.
The refrigerant system contains the highly
flammable and combustible R 290 refrigerant and
may only be opened at the factory or in the service
workshop.
This appliance may be used by children from 8 years
old and by persons with reduced physical, sensory
or mental capabilities or with a lack of experience
and knowledge only if they are supervised or have
been instructed in the safe use of the appliance and
understand the resulting risks. Children must not be
allowed to play with the appliance.
3.2
Obligations of the operator / vehicle
owner
3.2.1 Safety through these operating instructions
The operating instructions are an important document
and part of the product. They are aimed at the user and
contain information that is relevant for safety. Only the
procedures specified in the operating instructions are
safe.
If the operating instructions are not followed, people
may be seriously injured or the air conditioning system
may be damaged.
Read and observe the instructions for safe operation
before using and operating the system for the first
time.
Always keep the operating instructions handy and
close to the product.
3.2.2 Safety through maintenance and servicing
Installation, maintenance and repair only by
experts who are familiar with the dangers of
handling electrical appliances, refrigerants and air
conditioning systems. Incorrect work can result in
considerable hazards.
In particular, do not screw in any long screws or
similar near the air conditioning system, as this
can damage the air conditioning system and cause
refrigerant to escape.
Opening the system, loosening the fixing points,
assembly, disassembly, inspection and repair only by
an expert.
Steam-based and high-pressure cleaners must not
be used.
When cleaning the vehicle, ensure that no water
gets into the air conditioning system (e.g. do

not spray water directly into openings in the air
conditioning system).
Do not reach into the appliance; risk of burns from
hot parts.
3.2.3 Safety through approved power supply
For problem-free operation and in order to avoid
damage, the supply voltage must always come from
a source with a pure sine wave curve (e.g. voltage
converter, generator) and without voltage spikes.
3.3
Safe operation
The forced ventilation openings of the vehicle must
always be unobstructed, especially during longer
periods of inactivity (e.g. winter storage).
The air inlets / outlets at the external unit and the
air distributor must not be obstructed under any
circumstances.
Do not insert fingers or objects into the ventilation
grilles.
In case of fire, do not extinguish with water. There is
a risk of electric shock.
Only operate the air conditioning system if the
housing and cables are undamaged.
Electric shock from uncovered, damaged
electric cables.
In the event of damage to a mains cable:
Switch off the power supply; for example, via fuses
or residual current circuit-breakers (RCCB) in the
main distribution board of the vehicle. Unplug the
line power. Prevent the power supply from being
switched back on.
Have the power cable replaced by the manufacturer,
customer service or an expert.
Risk of fire from overheated cable drum.
If the electricity for the vehicle is supplied via a cable
drum, high current consumption can heat the rolled up
cable.
Completely unwind cable from a cable drum.
3.4
What to do in the event of a
malfunction
Eliminate malfunctions immediately.
Rectify only the faults described in Section
"11 Malfunctions" on page 33 yourself.
In the event of malfunctions that you cannot rectify
yourself, contact Truma Service.
3.4.1 What must I do if there are unusual noises
or smells?
Switch off the roof-mounted air conditioning system.
Have an expert check the roof-mounted air
conditioning system.
