6 | EnDrive - Intended use
Intended use
EnDrive is a battery-operated electronic medical
device used for the treatment of root pulp infec-
tion, which allows root canal preparation by
means of continuously or alternately rotating
endodontic instruments with torque control, or
retreatment of an already treated tooth, with
integrated apex locator.
There are no restrictions on the type of patients
for use of the device, except patients with active
implantable devices such as pacemakers,
defibrillators, cochlear implants, on patients
allergic to metals, on pregnant or lactating
women, or on children. (see contraindications).
The use of this product is intended only for
dentists in dental offices, clinics and hospitals.
Use of this product by unqualified personnel
may result in harm to the patient, operator, or
environment.
To ensure the safety, intended functionality and
proper maintenance of the EnDrive, please fol-
low the instructions given in this user manual.
Nextmed accepts no liability if EnDrive is used,
stored or handled in a manner contrary to the
directions in this user manual.
In order to fulfil its intended purpose EnDrive
must be used with its file clamp, lip hook and
contra-angle handpiece accessories, which can
be reused having first reprocessed them as per
Chapter 5.
