10 | EnDrive - Warnings, precautions, contra-indications, adverse reactions
that the EnDrive components are function-
ing properly.
•
EnDrive requires precautions regarding
electromagnetic compatibility and must be
installed and operated in accordance with
the EMC Directive. In particular, EnDrive
must not be used in the vicinity of fluores-
cent lamps, radio transmitters, remote con-
trols or RF communication devices even if
they comply with the requirements of
CISPR11.
•
Ensure that the patient cable or
handpiece cable does not restrict the
operator's mobility during the procedure.
•
Do not knot the patient cable or handpiece
cable.
•
Do not pull on the cables but grasp the con-
nectors to disconnect them. Ensure that
the cables are never under tension.
•
The use of the EnDrive next to another
device should be avoided as this can lead
to malfunctions. Ensure that EnDrive and
the other device, if any, are operating nor-
mally.
•
Do not expose EnDrive to ultrasonic or
infrasonic sources.
•
Avoid direct light on the screen to ensure
full readability.
During treatment
•
The user must use their own clinical judge-
ment for appropriate use.
•
Ensure that the file selected on the screen
is the one actually in use on the contra-an-
gle handpiece. It is recommended to adhere
to the torque and speed settings shown on
the screen by default, as recommended by
the file manufacturer.
•
Do not use reciprocating files with continu-
ously rotating file settings, and vice versa.
•
Switch the main unit off via the on/off but-
ton in case it does not respond to com-
mands.
•
Lubricate the contra-angle handpiece after
each sterilisation cycle.
•
Do not lubricate the handpiece, as this will
damage the motor.
•
Make sure to calibrate the contra-angle
handpiece after each sterilisation and lubri-
cation cycle using the appropriate menu
and not during patient treatment. The cali-
bration process rotates the motor over the
entire speed range, so make sure the file is
not mounted on the contra-angle during
calibration.
•
If stopping the motor via the button on the
handpiece does not respond, press the
symbol of the instrument in use on the
main unit.
•
For the apex locator function, ensure that
the contact point between the endodontic
instrument and forceps is kept dry and
clean to avoid inaccurate readings.
•
The apex locator function during motor
treatment only works with the supplied con-
tra-angle handpiece.
•
If the file clamp is not properly connected
to the endodontic instrument, or is dam-
aged, EnDrive may generate incorrect infor-
mation.
