4.5 Motor Function with integrated apex locator
To perform apical detection during treatment
with motor function (combined measurement),
connect the handpiece cable to the main unit
and the handpiece. This mode replaces the
connection of the file clamp to the hand file as
described in section 4.3. The Lip Clip must be
applied to the patient, and the directions for
use as described in section 4.3 must be follo-
wed. The electrical signal is transmitted
through the endodontic instrument connected
on the contra-angle handpiece provided.
During combined apex location with rotating
motor, the LED on the handpiece appears blue
in the coronal parts of the canal, green in the
apical parts, and red in case of over-instrumen-
tation.
Through the settings, the motor stop function
can be selected when the level corresponding
to the desired level is reached.
Clicking on the dotted line the level at which the
motor stops is selected regardless of the tor-
que setting, among the 3 levels of the apex sec-
tions:

As described in Section 4.4, click on the file set-
tings icon to change the parameters of conti-
nuous or reciprocating rotation.
It is recommended not to alter the default set-
tings in the tool library suggested by the file
manufacturers, so to not cause any breakage.
However, it is possible to change torque, speed,
and rotation angles for each file to give the
experienced user more flexibility.
