9. Setting up the outdoor sensor

Step 1:
If the wind vane is not attached to the outdoor sensor, follow the steps below to secure it in place.
• Use the hex key provided to loosen the screw in the wind vane (do not unscrew it completely).
• Carefully place the wind vane onto the axle in the correct position.
Align the opening on the bottom of the wind vane with the flattened area on the side of the axle. The wind vane only
fits onto the axle in one position; this ensures that the wind direction only needs to be calibrated once.
Do not use any force when inserting the wind vane, as this may damage the axle or wind vane components.
• Tighten the screw to secure the wind vane in place (do not use any force).
Step 2:
Insert the metal tube (B) into the bottom of the outdoor sensor.
Proceed as follows:
• Remove the plastic ring (A) from the tube: Turn the ring anticlockwise, and then slide it off the tube.
• Insert the metal tube (B) into the opening on the sensor, en-
suring that you insert the end with the two slots (C). There
is a plastic rod (D) inside the hole; this should fit exactly into
the slot (C) on the metal tube (see arrow in the right-hand
image).
