6. Notes on batteries/rechargeable batteries

• Keep batteries out of the reach of children.
• Do not leave batteries lying around, as they constitute a choking hazard for children and pets. Seek immediate
medical advice if a battery is swallowed.
• Replace empty batteries immediately to prevent leakage.
• When handling leaking or damaged batteries, always use suitable protective gloves to avoid burning your skin.
• Liquids that leak from batteries are extremely corrosive and can cause significant damage to objects or surfaces
that come into contact with such liquids. Always store batteries in a suitable location that is not prone to damage.
• Batteries must never be short-circuited, disassembled or thrown into fire. This may result in an explosion.
• Never attempt to recharge non-rechargeable batteries, as this may cause an explosion.
• Never mix disposable batteries with rechargeable batteries.
• Do not mix batteries with different capacities (e.g. full and half-full batteries).
• Always replace the complete set of batteries.
• Always ensure that batteries are inserted in the correct polarity (observe the plus/+ and minus/- markings).
The outdoor sensor cannot be powered with rechargeable batteries. Rechargeable batteries have a lower voltage
(1.2 V compared with 1.5 V for disposable batteries), resulting in a shorter battery life.
In addition, rechargeable batteries are very sensitive to changes in temperature, resulting in an even shorter battery
life in cold conditions.
We recommend using high-quality alkaline batteries to power the outdoor sensor.
