Start-up
Regulating for oil operation
Regulating the oil pressure
Oil pressure (and hence burner power)
is set for low load via oil pressure
regulator 6.1 and for high load via oil
pressure regulator 6.2 in the pump.
Turn to
right: to increase pressure
left: to decrease pressure.
To check the pressure, a manometer
must be connected at the manometer
connection 4, R1/8 thread.
Checking negative pressure
The vacuum gauge to check negative
pressure should be connected at
connection 5, R1/8.
Maximum permissible negative
pressure is 0.4 bar. If the pressure falls
below this level, the heating oil
vaporizes and the pump makes rasping
noises.
Regulating the burner for oil
operation
· Connect a microammeter (0-500 µA)
in place of the measuring bridge
· Connect the manometer to measure
positive pressure 4 and negative
pressure 5.
· Check whether the gas valves are
closed.
· Open the oil valves.
· Press tumbler switches A - C - E -
H1.
Bleeding the oil pump
· At initial start-up, draw up oil with a
hand pump.
· Switch on the boiler control system.
· Unlock the control and safety unit.
· During pre-ventilation, open the oil
filter bleed screw and bleed
thoroughly. Negative pressure
should not drop below 0.4 bar.
Close the bleed screw once the filter
is completely full of oil and the oil
comes out free of bubbles.
Setting the low load (cam VI)
· Set the low load oil pressure via
pressure regulator 6.1 in accordance
with the required burner power.
· To increase the volume of air, set
cam VI to a higher value on the
scale.
· Set switch H to 2 for a short time.
· Set switch H back to 1, so that the
air flap adopts the new low load
position.
· To decrease the volume of air,
follow the same sequence.
· After each setting, check combustion
values.
N.B.: Monitor the temperature of the
exhaust gases to avoid condensation
(dewpoint).
Setting the high load
· Set switch H to 2. Servomotor opens
to high load setting.
· Check the combustion values (soot
test, CO
).
2
· To set the CO
value, adjust the
2
pump pressure via pressure
regulator 6.2.
· If start-up has been carried out
running on gas, do not adjust cam I
on start-up with oil.
If the burner head setting (dimension Y)
needs to be altered, the whole setting
procedure must be carried out again
Setting the ignition load (cam IV)
The ignition load (cam IV) setting
should normally be the same as the low
load setting (cam VI). If there are
system-specific reasons why burner
start-up requires a lean or a rich
mixture, proceed as follows:
· To increase the volume of air, set
cam IV at a higher value than cam
VI.
· Set switch H to 2 for a short time.
· Set switch H back to 1, so that the
air flap adopts the new low load
position.
· To decrease the volume of air, set
cam IV at a lower value than cam
VI.
Setting the changeover point to
intermediate stage (cam VII) and
pressure stage 2 (cam VIII)
Switch the burner from low to high load
several times with switch H. Set cams
VII and VIII to give a smooth transition
from low to high load.

Oil and gas operation
· The burner must be shut down
when changing to another fuel.
Select the required fuel with tumbler
switch C or D.
· If the burner is switched to another
fuel while in operation, the burner
goes into fault mode and the control
and safety unit locks out. Unlock the
control and safety unit and select
the required fuel with tumbler switch
C or D.
· Change of fuel by remote control
To change fuel by remote control via a
modem, check first that the burner
switches to low load and shuts down.
The circuit diagram contains a
switching proposal to this effect.
