© EJECT Button
Press the EJECT button to open the cassette
holder door for insertion or extraction of
the cassette tape. To protect the tape trans-
port section and the cassette tape itself the
EJECT button only operates during STOP
mode.

button forcefully during any mode except
STOP (or POWER OFF).
@ Push Button Control Panel
> (Play) Button
Pressing this button causes the tape to run
at normal speed (from left to right). If the
deck is in the REC MUTE or RECORD/
PAUSE modes, pressing the play ( » ) but-
ton resumes normal recording. To initiate
the RECORD mode, see below.
<(Rewind) Button
Pressing this button
rewinds the tape at
high speed to the beginning of the tape or
to the 000 position on the tape counter if
the MEMORY switch is ON. When the tape
is fully
rewound,
the end-of-tape
stop
mechanism
automatically
stops the tape
transport.
>> (Fast Forward) Button
Press this button if you want to fast forward
wind the tape. The end-of-tape stop mecha-
nism operates when the tape is fully wound.
STOP Button
Press this button to stop the tape and re-
lease any other mode.
RECORD Button (with Indicator Lamp)
In order to initiate recording, press this
button and, while holding it in, simultane-
ously press the play ( » ) button. The deck
will go into the record mode, the RECORD
indicator lamp will light and the tape will
run at normal speed. If the RECORD but-
ton
and the PAUSE
button are pressed
together, the deck will go into the RECORD/
PAUSE
mode — the deck is ready for re-
cording but the tape will not run. Sub-
sequently
pressing the play ( >) button
will set the deck in the record mode. In the
RECORD/PAUSE mode both the RECORD
indicator lamp and the PAUSE
indicator
lamp will light.
Note: It is not possible to initiate the record
mode
if the cassette inserted in the deck
has had the record protection tabs removed.

Pour ouvrir
le volet du compartiment

cassette, appuyer sur la touche d'éjection
(EJECT).
Les cassettes doivent étre mises
en place avec le cété laissant entrevoir ta
bande dirigé vers le bas et ta face a enre-
gistrer ou a écouter visible de l'extérieur.
Le panneau avant de ce volet est amovible
pour faciliter le nettoyage et I'entretien des
tétes magnétiques. Se reporter a la page 31.
@ Touche d'éjection (EJECT)
Enfoncer fa touche d'éjection afin d'intro-
duire ou de retirer une cassette. Pour pro-
téger le mécanisme de transport de la bande
et la bande en elle-méme, n'enfoncer la
touche d'éjection que lorsque la platine est
en mode d'arrét (STOP). Ne jamais essayer
d'enfoncer
la touche
d'éjection
durant
n'importe
quel
mode,
excepté
le mode
d'arrét
(STOP)
ou
lorsque
la platine est
hors circuit.

Touche de lecture ( > )
Lorsqu'on appuie sur cette touche, la bande
se met a défiler de gauche a droite a vitesse
normale.
Lorsque
la platine est en mode
d'enregistrement avec silencieux ou bien en
mode de pause d'enregistrement, la touche
de lecture ( » ) sert a remettre l'appareil en
mode d'enregistrement normal. Pour de plus
amples détails sur la mise en route de I'enre-
gistrement,
se reporter
aux
explications
données ci-aprés.
Touche de retour rapide (<<)
Lorsqu'on appuie sur cette touche, la bande
se rebobine a grande vitesse, soit jusqu'au
début, soit, si le commutateur de mémoire
(MEMORY)
est réglé sur la position ON,
jusqu'a ce que le compteur numérique de
repérage (TAPE COUNTER) affiche 000. Le
mécanisme
d'entrafnement
s'arréte
auto-
matiquement lorsque la bande arrive en fin
de course.
Touche d'avance rapide (>>)
Appuyer sur cette touche pour faire défiler
la bande
rapidement
vers l'avant. Le dis-
positif
d'arrét automatique
se déclenche
lorsque !a bande arrive en fin de course.
Touche d'arrét (STOP)
Cette touche commande
I'arrét du défile-
ment de la bande et libére tous les autres
modes de fonctionnement.
Touche d'enregistrement (RECORD)
avec
voyant indicateur
Pour mettre en route un enregistrement,
appuyer sur cette touche, puis, tout en la
maintenant en position enfoncée, appuyer
sur la touche de lecture (> ). La platine se
met
alors en
mode
d'enregistrement:
le
voyant
indicateur
d'enregistrement
(RE-
CORD) s'allume et la bande se met a défiler
a vitesse normale. Si on appuie simultané-
ment sur la touche d'enregistrement (RE-
CORD) et la touche de PAUSE, la platine
