FO2 = 4:
Monitoring for exceeding an input frequency (fault signal)
The output relay* de-energises when the input frequency is greater than the pre-
set value (switch point). The output relay* is energised during the start-up delay
and as long as the input frequency is lower than the preset value.
Switching with hysteresis:
If the input frequency becomes lower than the preset value, the relay energises at
the switch point - the hysteresis value.
Example:
SP = 1500 RPM; Hy = 5% of SP = 75 RPM
Relay energises when <1500 RPM, de-energises when <1425 RPM (1500-75)
FO2 = 5 / FO2 = 6
Monitoring a frequency range for exceeding and not reaching an input frequency
(safe range, window function). The frequency range is determined by a "min" pre-
set value and by a "max" preset value.
Within this frequency range the output relay is energised for F02 = 5 and de-ener-
gised for F02 = 6. Outside this frequency range the output relay is de-energised for
F02 = 5 and energised for F02 = 6.
("Output relay energised" means "transistor output conductive"; "output relay de-energised" means
"transistor output blocked").
The frequency range is set by means of a "fictive" switch point (SP) and the hys-
teresis (Hy), with the hysteresis being effective in both directions, which is not the
case for functions 1...4.

Switching with hysteresis
The values for "preset value min" and "preset value max" are switch point and
"reset point" at the same time, i.e. the hysteresis function is not used in the usual
way. Output chattering (relay chattering) can however be avoided by entering a time
≥ 100 ms for the DT function.
Switching with active latched output function:
If the input frequency is within the defined frequency range, this state is latched and
can only be reset by the front reset when the input frequency is outside the fre-
quency range.
SP2
Switch Point for output 2:
Set value where the respective output changes its switching state.
Explanations on the switching characteristics of the outputs with regard to the
switch point are given in the function diagrams on the switching functions, from
page 29 onwards.
• Range of values:0.1 ... 1000.0 Hz or 1 ... 60000 RPM.
• Presetting in the factory: 500.
Setting example:
preset value "min" = 750 RPM; preset value "max" = 2500 RPM
SP = (750+2500) / 2 = 1625 RPM
HY = (1625-750) / 1625 x 100 = 53.8 (%)
Preset value "min"= SP - Hy = 1625 - 874 (SPxHY) = 751 RPM
Preset value "max" = SP+ Hy = 1625 + 874 (SPxHY) = 2499 RPM
