Stop delay: After each production run, the pump continues to run for approx. 10 s to rinse the
diaphragm with tap water. This ensures that the conductivity on the concentrate side of the
diaphragm falls back down to the input conductivity. This avoids stagnation peaks and pre-
vents calcification of the diaphragm. The volume of waste water generated by this process is
approx. 330 ml.
■
Permeate rinsing: When the permeate conductivity exceeds a preset value, the permeate is
returned via the membrane. If the value falls below the setpoint, demineralisation starts.
■
Hygienic requirement: For use in clinical areas (e.g. in the dental area), an additional germ bar-
rier must be installed after the device (e.g. an ultrafiltration device such as the BWT bestcare
mini).
If the system is out of service without power for an extended period of time (for example, during
holidays), it is necessary to flush the device for ten minutes. It must be ensured that the rinse wa-
ter can drain freely. The flushing water must be discarded.
6.3 Removing/replacing the RO cartridge
■
Turn off the device (on/off switch on the back of the unit). Make sure that the status LED is no
longer lit up.
■
Remove the new filter cartridge from the packaging and remove the hygiene cap.
■
Before installing the bestdemin Plus filter cartridge, write the date of installation and the re-
placement date (after 12 months at the latest) on the type plate of the filter cartridge.
■
Before installing the bestaqua 14 membrane filter cartridge, write the date of installation and
the replacement date (after 24 months at the latest) on the type plate of the filter cartridge.
■
Tilt the device backwards slightly to have better access to the filter cartridge to be replaced.
■
Turn the old filter cartridge clockwise to remove from the filter head.
■
Screw the new filter cartridge anti-clockwise into the filter head.
■
Power the unit back on and check the system for leaks.
■
Before flushing in the membrane cartridge, the other filter cartridge must be unscrewed from
the device and replaced with a blind plug (bestmax blindcap 812162 / FS00Y30A00 ).
■
The membrane cartridge can now be screwed out of the unit in a clockwise direction.
■
The new membrane cartridge is now screwed into the unit in an anti-clockwise direction.
■
The water counter of the membrane cartridge (Membrane Water Counter) can now be reset in
the app. The membrane cartridge is now automatically flushed.
■
Once the flushing process is complete, the blind plug must be replaced again with the other
filter cartridge.
■
If the bestdemin Plus filter cartridge has been replaced, reset the post-filter counter in the
app.
i NOTE!
After each filter cartridge replacement, the device must be flushed for 5 minutes.
If the permeate volume flow decreases, the membrane element must be replaced. Furthermore,
we recommend replacing the membrane every 12 months.
