4.3 Qualified personnel
Only trained persons and specialist personnel may install, commission and maintain the filter sys-
tem.
■
Trained personnel have been informed about the tasks assigned to them and the possible
dangers of improper use and behaviour.
■
Skilled personnel are able to install, commission and maintain the filter system as a result of
their technical training, knowledge and experience as well as knowledge of the relevant regu-
lations.
4.4 Pressure
For optimal functioning, the device requires a certain minimum operating pressure. In addition,
the water pressure should not exceed the maximum permissible pressure.
I CAUTION!
The feedwater pressure must always be between 0.15 and 0.4 MPa (1.5 and 34 bar) as measured
directly at the RO unit.
If the pressure exceeds 0.4 MPa (34 bar), then a pressure reducing valve must be installed.
If the pressure drops below 0.15 MPa (1.5 bar), then a pressure booster system must be installed
upstream.
■
We recommend installing a stop valve at the infeed side of the device to enable the feed-
water flow to be interrupted for service purposes.
■
The on-site installation should use at least DN 8. Smaller feed pipes may result in operational
stoppage due to insufficient water pressure or flow rates (e.g. when flushing the reverse os-
mosis membranes).
■
Installing a pressure reducer can reduce the flow.

Installation and assembly
5.1 Requirements for installation
■
Choose a place to set up the device that allows simple connection to the water supply net-
work.
■
There must also be a drain connection and a separate mains socket (220-240 V / 50-60 Hz)
nearby.
■
The device must be electrically connected to a grounded mains socket. The voltage supply
and the requisite feedwater pressure must be guaranteed stable.
■
Interference emissions (voltage peaks, high-frequency electromagnetic fields, spurious and
voltage oscillations, etc.) of the surrounding electrical installation may not exceed the max-
imum values set in the standard EN 61000-6-4.
I CAUTION!
Quality of the supply pipeline: All materials used in the permeate area must be corrosion-resist-
ant.
Read Technical data [Chapter 2] and Operating and safety instructions [Chapter 4] prior to installation.
