3.3.2. RESTORE Firmware Version
If the installed fi rmware version does not work properly, an earlier fi rmware
version can be restored by "RESTORE Firmware Version". If there is a
functioning previous fi rmware version on the drive unit, the drive unit performs
a "Local RESTORE" to this fi rmware version. If no fi rmware version exists,
the drive unit performs a "Wi-Fi RESTORE", whereby a functioning fi rmware
version is loaded automatically into the drive unit via Wi-Fi. Stored Wi-Fi
networks and drive unit settings are usually retained with a fi rmware RESTORE.
Make sure that an Internet connection to the Cloud exists. Keep the left
button (22) and On/Off button (24) pressed simultaneously for 10 s. "Local
RESTORE" or "Wi-Fi RESTORE" is shown in the OLED display depending
on the availability.
Local RESTORE
The previously used fi rmware version is restored: "Local RESTORE" is shown
in the drive unit's OLED display. Keep the right button (22) pressed for 2 s.
The "Installation" symbol
to indicate the installation of the previously used fi rmware version. After
installation, the drive unit restarts automatically and is ready for operation.
Wi-Fi RESTORE
If no previous fi rmware version is available on the drive unit, a fi rmware
version stored on the server is downloaded via the existing Wi-Fi connection.
"Wi-Fi RESTORE" is shown in the drive unit's OLED display. Keep the right
button (22) pressed for 2 s. If no dot is displayed at the bottom right, no Wi-Fi
connection exists. In this case, make the Wi-Fi connection to proceed. After
successful installation, the drive unit restarts and is ready for operation.
If an error occurs during a RESTORE, the drive unit restarts automatically.
The fi rmware version installed on the drive unit remains unchanged.
3.3.3. FACTORY RESET
The drive unit can be reset to factory setup by FACTORY RESET. This
irretrievably deletes Wi-Fi networks stored on the drive unit, counter 1 and
counter 2 as well as the contents of the internal memory.
Press the right button (22) to open the "Setup"
button again. Press the left button to show the "FACTORY RESET"
page. Stored Wi-Fi networks and drive unit settings are not retained with a
FACTORY RESET.
Note: If the "Read instruction manual" information page
OLED display, a usage bar is set. The usage bar must be cancelled in the
ROLLER Service Portal.
● Keep the right button pressed for 2 s.
● "FACTORY RESET" is displayed briefl y and the drive unit performs a
restart.
3.4. Machine Status Check with Battery Low Discharge Protection
ROLLER'S Multi-Press 22 V ACC Connected is equipped with an electronic
machine status check (17) with overload protection against too high currents
and with charging level indication (17) by a two-coloured green/red LED. The
LED lights green when the battery is fully or still suffi ciently charged. The LED
lights red when the battery needs to be charged, the battery is defective or the
drive unit has switched off due to overcurrent. If this condition occurs during
pressing and the pressing process is not fi nished, the pressing must be completed
with a fully charged Li-Ion battery. If the drive unit is not used, the LED goes
out after the set stand-by time has expired but comes on again when the drive
unit is switched back on.
3.5. Graduated Charging State Indicator (20) of the Li-Ion 21.6 V battery
The graduated charging state indicator shows the charging state of the battery
with 4 LEDs. At least one LED lights for a few seconds after pressing the
key with the battery symbol. The more LEDs that light green, the higher the
charging state of the battery. If a LED fl ashes red, the battery must be
recharged.

To avoid damage to radial presses, make sure that no tension builds up between the pressing tongs, pressing ring, adapter tongs, fi tting and drive unit in work situa-
tions such as those shown in the examples in Fig. 10 to Fig. 12.
CAUTION
CAUTION
After longer storage times of the drive unit, the overpressure valve must be actuated by pressing the reset key (12) before starting up again. If this is stuck or stiff, no
pressing may be performed. The drive unit must then be sent to an authorised ROLLER customer service workshop for inspection.

Germany, such periodic testing of electrical devices should be performed in
accordance with DIN VDE 0701-0702 and also prescribed for mobile electrical
equipment according to the accident prevention rules DGUV, regulation 3
"Electrical Systems and Equipment". In addition, the respective national
safety regulations, rules and specifi cations valid for the application site must
be observed and followed.

4.1.1. Pressing Tongs, Pressing Rings, Adapter Tongs
Check pressing tongs, pressing rings and adapter tongs regularly for easy
action. Clean pressing tongs, pressing rings and adapter tongs if necessary
and grease the bolts (11) of the pressing jaws, pressing segments and adapter
jaws (Fig. 1, 6 – 10) lightly with machine oil; do not remove pressing tongs,
pressing rings and adapter tongs! Remove deposits from the pressing contour

adapter tongs regularly by making a test pressing with an inserted press
fi tting (see "3.1 Pressing Process".
Keep pressing tongs, pressing rings and adapter tongs clean. Clean heavily
soiled metal parts, and then protect against rust.
No longer use damaged or worn pressing tongs, pressing rings and adapter
tongs. If in doubt, hand in the drive unit together with all pressing tongs,
pressing rings and adapter tongs to an authorised ROLLER customer service
workshop for inspection.
4.1.2. Drive Unit
Keep the pressing tongs holder clean, clean the pressing rollers (5) and the
tong retaining bolt (2) especially regularly and then grease lightly with machine
oil. Check the functional reliability of the drive unit regularly by making a
pressing with the press fi tting that needs the highest pressing force. If the
pressing tongs, pressing ring and pressing segments close fully for this

pressing (see above) and the pressure is within the specifi cation, the drive
unit is working reliably.
