Pressure monitoring
Display "sad smiley" and motor switches off =
Display number of pressings counter 1, counter 2 or total counter,
selectable in the ROLLER Service Portal
Display: Pressure-time diagram
The pressure is monitored during the pressing process. Upon completion of the
pressing process, the "laughing smiley" appears in the OLED display if the
pressure was within the specifi cation. If the information signal tones are switched
on, a short signal tone is sounded at the end of the pressing. The next pressing
can be triggered directly by pressing the safety switch. If the "sad smiley" is
displayed and the LEDs of the pressure display light red, the pressure was less
than specifi ed (underpressure). If the "sad smiley" is displayed, the LEDs of the
pressure display light red and the drive unit motor is switched off, the pressure
was greater than specifi ed (overpressure). If the information signal tones are
switched on, two short signal tones are sounded at the end of the pressing in
both cases. Press the reset key until the press rollers are fully retracted. If the

Press the reset key until the press rollers are fully retracted. If the
pressure was outside the specifi cation, a new pressing process cannot be started
until the right button (22) is pressed in the "sad smiley" display. The press fi tting
made could be useless. In such cases, it is recommended to have the drive unit
inspected/repaired by an authorised ROLLER customer service workshop.
NOTICE
If the pressure is within the specifi cation and the "laughing smiley" is shown in
the OLED display, it cannot automatically be assumed that the pressing tongs,
pressing ring and pressing segments were closed at the end of the pressing
process. Complete closing must be checked for every pressing process, see
"3.1.4 Functional Safety".
Opening the pressure-time diagram and making a voice recording
As long as one of the two smilies is shown on the OLED display, the pressure-
time diagram of the performed pressing can be opened. Press the right button
(22) to show the pressure-time diagram of the pressing. A voice recording can
be made for every pressing. The voice recording runs for as long as the left
button is kept pressed. "
button is kept pressed. "
" fl ashes during the voice recording. The voice
recording ends when the left button is released. A new voice recording can be
started by pressing down the left button again and the previous voice recording
is over-recorded. This process can be repeated as often as required.
If there is no Internet connection to the Cloud during the pressing process,
recorded pressure-time diagrams and voice recordings are stored in the drive
unit memory. When the memory is full, the oldest contents are overwritten. The
overwriting is indicated by the message "Memory full"
the next time the drive unit is started. The message is confi rmed by pressing
the right button. It is recommended to make an Internet connection to the Cloud
to avoid data losses. As soon as an Internet connection to the Cloud exists,
the data are transferred automatically from the memory to the Cloud and the
memory is cleared. The transferred data can then be called via the ROLLER
Service Portal.
3.1.4. Functional Safety
The ACC drive mode of the drive unit can be switched on and off in the ROLLER
Service Portal and is shown on the OLED display as soon as a pressing is
started with the safety switch (see "2.5.2. Product Management"). Keep the
safety switch (7) pressed.
When using the switched on ACC drive mode, the drive unit ends the pressing
process automatically with emission of an acoustic signal (clicking) and auto-
matically returns (automatic circuit control).
When using the switched off ACC drive mode, the drive units stops shortly
before reaching the necessary pressure. This makes it easier to check complete
closing of the pressing tongs, pressing ring and pressing segments at the end
of the pressing process. The pressing process must be continued by pressing
the safety switch again. The drive unit ends the pressing process automatically
with emission of an acoustic signal (clicking) and automatically returns (automatic
circuit control).
NOTICE
A perfect pressing is only produced when the pressing tongs, pressing
ring and pressing segments close fully. After completing the pressing, check
that the pressing jaws (9) close fully at "A" for the pressing tongs (Fig. 1), the
(PR-3B) pressing ring (Fig. 6), the 45° (PR-2B) pressing ring (Fig. 7) and the S
(PR-2B) pressing ring (Fig. 7). After completing the pressing, check that the
pressing jaws (9) close fully at "A" and on the opposite side "B" for the (PZ-4G)
pressing tongs (Fig. 3) and the (PZ-S) pressing tongs (Fig. 4). After completing
the pressing, check that the pressing segments (15) close fully at "A" and on the

on the compression sleeve when closing the pressing tongs, pressing ring and
pressing segments, the pressing may be faulty or leaking (see "5. Faults").
3.1.5. Work Safety
The safety switch (7) enables the drive unit to be shut down at any time but
especially in the case of danger. The drive unit can be switched over to return
in any position by pressing the reset key (12).
3.2. Usage Bars
Different usage bars can be set for a registered drive unit in the ROLLER
Service Portal. The settings are saved in the Cloud with the "Save changes"
button. The settings are adopted by the drive unit the next time the drive unit
is connected to the Cloud. A message to this effect appears on the OLED
display when a usage bar is set.
3.2.1. Usage Bar A
The usage bar A can be switched on/off in the ROLLER Service Portal. If the
drive unit is locked, pressing is no longer possible until the usage bar is cancelled.

ROLLER Service Portal.
3.2.2. Usage Bar B
A reply time in days within which the drive unit must connect to the Cloud via
the Internet can be set in the ROLLER Service Portal. The drive unit is locked
if the Cloud receives no feedback within this period of time. The "Usage bar B"
symbol
appears in the OLED display. A QR code is shown in the OLED
display with the right button (22). Scan the QR code with the mobile terminating
device and change the usage bar of the drive unit in the ROLLER Service
Portal.

of days
is displayed for 3 s when switching on the drive unit. If ≤ 10 days
remain until the reply time, the fl ashing symbol with the remaining number of
days
is displayed once a day when switching on the drive unit and must be
confi rmed with the right button (22). If the drive unit is switched on repeatedly
on the same day, the symbol with the remaining number of days

3.2.3. Usage Bar C
Time and date ranges can be set as barring times in the ROLLER Service
Portal. The drive unit is locked within these barring times. The "Usage bar C"

3.3.1. Installing a New Firmware Version.
A new fi rmware version is available as a download when connected to the
Internet and is downloaded automatically. The symbol

restarts and is ready for operation. Stored Wi-Fi networks and drive unit settings
are usually retained when a new fi rmware version is installed.
A new fi rmware version can only be installed if at least one LED of the
graduated charging state indicator lights green and thus signals suffi cient
battery capacity. Do not remove the battery, disconnect the power supply or
switch off the drive unit during installation because this could damage the
drive unit.
