Putting into operation
WARNING
Electric shock due to touching live components
Touching live equipment parts may result in potentially fatal electric shocks.
► Only hold and move the welding torch using the intended handle piece.

Electric shock due to damaged or improperly installed components
Damaged or improperly installed components may result in potentially fatal electric shocks. Components include: Welding torch, cable assembly, spare parts,
wear parts.
► Inspect all components prior to each use and check that all connections are duly installed and undamaged.
► Clean soiled components immediately.
► Replace damaged components immediately.
► Damaged, deformed or worn components must only be replaced by an electrician who has been trained by ABICOR BINZEL.
Perform the following activities prior to every use:
1 Inspect, clean and, if necessary, replace the welding torch.

Selecting and mounting the wire guide

1 Select the welding material in line with the welding task.
2 Mount the appropriate wire guide for the welding material.
4.1.1

Shortening and mounting the spiral liner

NOTICE
Material damage when shortening and mounting the spiral liner
To mount the wire guide with a little preload, excess length is required.
► In the case of fixed welding torch necks, only use continuous spiral liners.

To use steel wires with undivided wire guide:
®
1 Lay out the Bikox
/cable assembly straight.
2 On the welding torch neck: Remove wear parts.
3 On the central connector: Unscrew the nut.
4 On the central connector: Push the spiral liner through the Bikox
assembly until reaching the retaining nipple.

For use of steel wires with divided wire guide:
®
1 Lay out the Bikox
/cable assembly straight.
2 Unscrew the rotating or repluggable welding torch neck.
3 On the central connector: Unscrew the nut.
4 On the central connector: Push the spiral liner through the Bikox
assembly until reaching the retaining nipple.

For use of steel wires with divided wire guide:
1 Lay out the cable assembly (A) straight.
2 Remove the welding torch neck.
3 Use a flat head screwdriver (width approx. 10 mm) to unscrew the
insulating bush (H) from the welding torch neck seat.
4 Optionally seal the welding torch neck with a sealing plug.
5 On the central connector (C): Unscrew the nut (D).
6 On the central connector: Push the spiral liner into the welding torch from
the central connector to the retaining nipple end stop.
7 Hand-tighten the nut (D).
8 Cut off the spiral liner (F) flush to the front of the welding torch handle or
the sealing plug.

2 Inspect, clean and, if necessary, replace the spare and wear parts.
3 Inspect, clean and, if necessary, replace the cable assembly.

 Stainless steel, aluminium, copper, nickel: 4.1.2 Mounting and shortening
the PA liner on page EN-43
5 On the central connector: Screw on the nut and tighten with the ABIMIG
wrench.
6 On the welding torch neck: Use side-cutting pliers to cut off any spiral liner
excess length flush with the tip adaptor.

7 On the welding torch neck: Mount the wear parts.
5 On the central connector: Screw on the nut and tighten with the ABIMIG
wrench.
6 On the welding torch neck: Use side-cutting pliers to cut off the excess
length on the thread grip piece leaving a 2 mm protrusion.

7 Mount the rotating or repluggable welding torch neck.
9 Unscrew the nut (D) and pull the spiral liner (F) out again.
10 Cut back the spiral liner (F) 40 mm at the front (53 mm if using a sealing
plug) and sharpen at an angle of 40°. Leave the remaining spiral liner
insulation and debur the cut edges.
11 Hand-tighten the insulating bush (H) into the welding torch neck seat
(small edge first).
12 Push in the spiral liner (F).
The retaining nipple excess length (approx. 14 mm) is used to preload
the spiral liner.
13 Tighten the nut (D).
