Connection variant D1 (MT LB 50 only)
(fig. j, page 11)
Connection variant for motor homes with existing
central electrical system equipped with integrated
cutoff relay and integrated charger.
I
NOTE
• Use the bypass relay (NC, 100 A) with
installation cable set (available as
accessory).
• For LiFePO4 batteries: Disable the
integrated charger if it is not equipped
with temperature-controlled charging
and the charging characteristic for
LiFePO4 batteries.
➤Install the charging booster in the starter battery
cable between central electrical system (3) and
the starter battery.
➤Install the bypass relay (4) in parallel with the
charging booster.
➤To connect the charging booster proceed as
shown in fig. j, page 11.
Connection variant D2 (MT LB 60,
MT LB 90) (fig. k, page 12)
Connection variant for motor homes with existing
central electrical system equipped with integrated
cutoff relay and integrated charger.
A
NOTICE! Risk of short circuit
The charging power of the charging
booster is too strong to insert the
charging booster into the existing wiring.
Use the bypass relay (NC, 100 A) with
installation cable set (available as acces-
sory) to disconnect starting and house
battery while the engine is running.
I
NOTE
• Optionally use the charging cable set
(available as accessory).
• For LiFePO4 batteries: Disable the
integrated charger if it is not equipped
with temperature-controlled charging
and the charging characteristic for
LiFePO4 batteries.
➤Install the charging booster in parallel with the
existing central electrical system (3) using sepa-
rate cabling with according cable cross-sections
(see chapter "Determine the cable cross-sec-
tion" on page 23).
➤Install the bypass relay (4) in the starting battery
cable between central electrical system (3) and
the starting battery.
➤To connect the charging booster proceed as
shown in fig. k, page 12.
Parallel connection of two charging
boosters (fig. l, page 13)
Connection variant, if very high loads occur (e.g.
air conditioning operation) or for large battery
groups to increase the charging power.
!
CAUTION! Electrocution hazard
Ensure that the recommended cable
cross-sections, cable lengths and fuses
are doubled according to the higher
charging currents that may occur.
I
NOTE
Parallel connection is only permissible if
the devices are of the same type and
capacity.
➤Slide the DIP switches to the position "D+" and
"Low" (see chapter "Setting the operating
mode" on page 27).
➤To connect the charging boosters in parallel
proceed as shown in fig. l, page 13.
