A Fixvent Mono AK/UT
system for many years, we recommend the following measures:
• If the screen fabric gets wet in an unexpected shower, you can safely roll it up and roll it down
again to dry when the weather has improved. To prevent mould growth and stains, avoid
leaving the screen fabric rolled up for more than three days when wet.

• The aluminium should be cleaned with clean water with a neutral non-corrosive cleaning pro-
duct, using a soft sponge or microfiber cloth.
o Gloss and matt coating:
Clean water with a neutral non-corrosive cleaning product with a pH between 6 and 8.
o Structural and metallic coating:
Clean lukewarm water (maximum 25 °C) with a neutral non-corrosive cleaning product, pH
7.
• Cleaning with steel wool, sandpaper, cleaning products with unknown composition or solvents
is not permitted! Equally, high pressure and steam cleaners are not allowed.
• Cleaning may not be done in full sunlight. We recommend cleaning on a cloudy or rainy day.
The surface you are cleaning should not be hotter than 25 °C.
• Rinsing with clean water is necessary so that no cleaning product residue is left on the surface
after cleaning. Cleaning product residue and new contamination (dust, rain, etc.) combined
with the influence of UV/IR radiation from sunlight can cause irreparable damage to the surf-
ace with loss of aesthetic value.
• To maintain gloss and colour, treatment with a protective product is necessary after cleaning.
Naturally, the product must be suitable for powder-coated matt, gloss, structural metallic paint.
• Hinged or rotating parts should be lubricated on a yearly basis. Use a dry lubricant (Veidec
Dry Lube – G6002790).
• After cleaning, (remove twigs and leaves), you can lubricate plastic sliding bushes with a dry
lubricant (Veidec Dry Lube – G6002790).
• Clean the inside of the flap in the ventilation part at least once every 2 years with a vacuum
cleaner and/ or damp cloth and remove leaves and other debris on the outside of the window
ventilator at least once every 2 years (depending on the environment in which the product is
installed).
• Check your product regularly for twigs, leaves, bird nests, etc. and remove them. Maintain this
product with due diligence.
• As the product manufacturer, we advise you to let the installer check it regularly:
o Annually, for both commercial buildings and domestic sun protection.
