5.2

Start Exposure Cycle

The exposure cycle is triggered by pressing the foot switch, pressing the camera icon in
the home menu or, in the tunnel version, by an external signal via the PLC interface.
Notice!
If the power of 1000 W is set, every exposure cycle starts with a bulb warm up cycle of
approx. 5 seconds to ensure consistent radiation intensity as soon as the shutter opens.
Frequent on/off switching results in premature deterioration of the lamp.
Do not switch off for idle periods of less than 3 hours.
• Position part in the cure chamber.
• Close door of cure chamber.
• Select desired exposure time.
• Press foot switch.
During exposure, the display in the home menu shows the remaining time in "Time"
mode or the elapsed time in "CONT" mode. The cycle starts with the warm-up time, if the
power is set to 1000 W, followed by the curing cycle. When the curing cycle is finished,
the shutter closes and the UV lamp switches back to 500 W.
The door of the cure chamber can be opened when the shutter has closed. A relevant
message will be indicated on the display.
Notice!
Required exposure times are dependent on the type of product used, on part
characteristics and on distance to the lamp. Tests should be conducted to determine the
most suitable settings for each specific application, using the times specified in the
product data sheets as guidelines.

Shutdown

• Press the icon for the home menu and
then "Switch lamp off".
The lamp is switched off and cooled down
specifically for 3 minutes:
• Then switch off the system using the
mains switch.

No Uncontrolled Shutdown

CAUTION!
The UVALOC can only be switched off via the "Switch lamp off" menu because it is the
only way the bulb is controlled cooled down.
The direct switching off via power switch 1 leads to significantly higher wear and thus to
a shorter life time of the bulb because it is not controlled cooled down.
