Adjusting Exposure Time/Cont Mode

Continuous Mode
In continuous mode the exposure time is predetermined by the duration of the start
signal at XS1 or XS2.
The exposure can now be started with the external start signal either at XS1 or XS2. The
shutter opens. If the shutter has reached the end stop, the contact "Shutter open" closes
at XS1/XS2. The exposure time starts. For information, the elapsed time is shown in the
display, counting upwards in seconds.
If the power selector is set to 1000 W, then prior to opening the shutter, the lamp is
heated up for 5 s from 500 W standby to full power. This time is needed to utilize a stable
operating point and is not counted as exposure time.
If the start signal at XS1/XS2 is released, the exposure stops and the shutter closes.
In order to obtain a reliable exposure time, the following program flow is recommended
for the higher-ranking PLC:
– Raise the start signal.
– Wait until the contact "Shutter open" closes.
– Start counting the predetermined exposure time.
– Release the start signal.
– Wait for the contact "Shutter open" is opened again before initiating the next exposure.
If the exposure menu is displayed (large camera symbol) during the exposure,
the exposure cycle can be cancelled by pressing the stop symol. This is like a
"Soft" emergency stop without turning the lamp off.
The minimum exposure time is 3 s. This is necessary because the unit is operated with
AC power. In order to get reliable results from the built-in UV meter, the AC component
from the light has to be filtered out. The filter needs 1-2 s to settle.
Time controlled Mode
In time mode the exposure time is predetermined by the built-in timer.
The exposure can now be started with the external start signal
either at XS1 or XS2. Or tip the camera button in the home menu.
The shutter opens. If the shutter has reached the end stop, the
contact "Shutter open" closes at XS1/XS2. The exposure time
starts. For information, the elapsed time is shown in the display, counting downwards
beginning with the time set in the Exposure menu.
If the power selector is set to 1000 W, then prior to opening the shutter, the lamp is
heated up for 5 s from 500 W standby to full power. This time is needed to utilize a stable
operating point and is not counted as exposure time.
If the time has counted down to 0 s, the exposure stops and the shutter closes.
