Safety instructions
Do not use a battery pack or tool that is
damaged or modified. Damaged or modi-
fied batteries may exhibit unpredictable be-
haviour resulting in fire, explosion or risk of
injury.
Do not expose a battery pack to fire or ex-
cessive temperature. Exposure to fire or
temperature above 130°C may cause explo-
sion.
Follow all charging instructions and do
not charge the battery pack or machine
outside the temperature range specified in
the instructions. Charging improperly or at
temperatures outside the specified range
may damage the battery and increase the
risk of fire.

Safety instructions for the pole-mounted
pruner
Inexperienced operating personnel must be
instructed and trained in the operation of the
tool.
National and/or regional regulations may re-
strict the use of this device at certain times of
the day.
Take care at all times to keep limbs out of
the area of the saw chain. Do not remove
cut material and do not hold the material
to be cut as long as the saw chain is mov-
ing. Clear jammed material only with the
tool switched off. A moment of inattention
while operating the pole-mounted pruner can
result in serious injuries.
Follow all the instructions when removing
accumulated material from the pole-
mounted pruner, when storing the pole-
mounted pruner or carrying out mainte-
nance work. Ensure that the switch is
turned off and the battery removed. Unex-
pected starting of the pole-mounted pruner
when removing accumulated material or
during maintenance work can result in seri-
ous injuries.

Reduce the risk of a fatal electric shock
by never using the pole-mounted pruner
in the vicinity of electric cables. Contact
with or use in the vicinity of power cables can
result in serious injuries or even a fatal elec-
tric shock.
Hold the pole-mounted pruner only at the
insulated handles as the saw chain may
contact hidden wiring. Contact between the
saw chain and a live cable can result in elec-
trical current flowing through metal parts of
the machine, leading to an electric shock.
Always hold the pole-mounted pruner
with both hands when working. Hold the
pole-mounted pruner with both hands to
avoid the risk of losing control of the tool.
Wear eye protection. Further protective
equipment for ears, head, hands, legs and
feet is recommended. Adequate protective
clothing will reduce the risk of personal injury
from flying debris or accidental contact with
the saw chain.
Wear head protection when working over-
head with the pole-mounted pruner. Fall-
ing branches can result in serious injuries.
Do not operate the pole-mounted pruner
from a tree, ladder or roof or other unsta-
ble surface. Operation in this way poses a
serious risk of injury.
Always keep proper footing and operate
the pole-mounted pruner only when
standing on a firm, secure and level sur-
face. Slippery ground or unstable surfaces
may cause a loss of balance or loss of con-
trol of the pole-mounted pruner.
When sawing a branch that is under ten-
sion, be alert for spring back. When the
tension in the wood fibres is released, the
branch may strike the operator and/or knock
the pole-mounted pruner out of control.
Use extreme caution when cutting brush
and saplings. The slender material may
catch up in the saw chain and be whipped to-
wards you or knock you off balance.
Always carry the pole-mounted pruner at
the handle and only when the saw chain is
no longer moving. During transport or
storage of the pole-mounted pruner, the
protective cover must be fitted over the
chain bar. Proper use and handling of the
pole-mounted pruner reduces the risk of inju-
ry due to the saw chain.
