Installation procedure
<Note>
• Excessive tightening will result in cracking at the flare and will cause refrigerant leakage.
• To weld the refrigerant pipe, please use nitrogen for replacement (*1) or allow nitrogen (*2) to pass
through the refrigerant pipe, while welding the pipes. Also, use the flare or flange to connect the indoor unit
to the connection kit.
(*1) Nitrogen replacement method is explained in the multi-split system work manual.
(*2) If nitrogen flowing and welding proceed simultaneously, do use the pressure reducing valve.
At approximately 0.02 MPa (0.2 Kg/cm with a slight feeling of breeze), the pressure is usually appropriate.
<Note>
• In case of pipe welding, do not use antioxidants, for its residue may lead to blockages in the tube and
malfunctioning of the components.
• In addition, do not use flux in case of pipe welding. If the flux is a chlorine product, it will corrode the tube;
if it contains fluorine, it will even cause detrimental effects in the refrigerant system, such as refrigerant oil
deterioration. Please do not use phosphor copper as a welding material either (BCup-2).
Selecting the pipe dimensions
Select refrigerant branching dimensions for the distance between the outdoor units and the connection kit,
and for the distance between the connection kit and the indoor units, based on the specifications in the
Operation & Installation Manual of the outdoor units and that of the indoor units.
