CONDITIONER ADJUSTMENTS
B.1 Conditioning rotor position
The clearance between the conditioner rotor and the cutter bar can
be adjusted in three positions.
- Open the V belt housing to relieve V belt tension.
- Remove the tension from the V-belts.
- Dismount the threaded end of the tensioning device by removing
the bolt A (fig. B-1).
- Dismount the top bolt B (fig. B-2) of the bearing blocks (left and
right side).
- Losen the lower bolt of the bearing blocks.
- Move the conditioner rotor to the rear, from the position
position
(or the other way round), then tighten both bolts.
- Mount the threaded end of the tensioning device.
- Tighten the V-belts. Adjust belt tension in such a way that, if a
70 N (7 kg) force is exerted on the middle, the V-belt is pushed in
10 mm (fig. B-1).
- Close and lock the V belt housing.
The crop inlet plate of the conditioner can be placed in two positions
in respect of the conditioner rotor. The rear position of the cop inlet
plate corresponds with position
the front position matches the positions
rotor.
- Dismount the pivot blocks of the crop inlet plate.
- Fit the crop inlet plate in the correct position by means of the pivot
blocks.
B.2 Rotor speed
The machine can be supplied together with an additional drive
pulley (option) for the conditioner rotor. By exchanging this pulley
with the standard part, a different rotor speed can be adjusted.
Change the pulleys as follows:
- Open the V-belt housing.
- Remove the tension from the V-belts and remove them.
- Remove the two allen headed bolts C (fig. B-1) from the pulley
and place one of the two bolts in the central one of the three holes
in the pulley.
- Tighten the allen headed bolt until the pulley is detached from its
clamping bush.
- Remove the clamping bush and pulley.
- Fit the other pulley (align it with the top pulley) and tighten the
allen headed bolts with a torque of 50 Nm (5 kgm). Then hit the
pulley with a hammer and tighten the allen headed bolts once
again at the same torque (50 Nm/5 kgm). Do not use any oil or
grease when fitting the pulley.
- Mount the V-belts.
- Tighten the V-belts. Adjust belt tension in such a way that, if a
70 N (7 kg) force is exerted on the middle, the V-belt is pushed in
10 mm (fig. C-1).
- Close the V belt housing.
