- If the machine does not follow the ground contours effectively, or
if it tends to dig into the ground, the machines ground pressure
should be adjusted (see § 4.3).
- Closing the crop inlet plate increases the speed of the crop
allowing the swath boards to control swath more effectively
(narrower).
The machine is protected against overload by a slip clutch.

6 DISMOUNTING FROM THE TRACTOR

- Lower the mower conditioner unit onto the ground.
- Lift the three point hitch until the locking pins can be installed.
Place the locking pins in the holes for storing the machine
(fig. 14).
- Lower the machine by means of the tractor hydraulics.
- Switch off the tractor engine. Disengage the PTO shaft from the
tractor PTO.
- Place the PTO shaft in the hook.
- Depressurize the hydraulic system and disconnect the hydraulic
hose. Slide the dust cap onto the plug.
- Remove the pin from the locking hook of the quick hitch.
- Pull back the locking hook of the quick hitch and lower the
hydraulics until the quick hitch is only just clear from the linkage
attachment. Operate carefully and mind the PTO shaft.
- Drive the tractor back straight, carefully, until the quick hitch
has been removed from underneath the linkage attachment.
