9 Maintenance and cleaning
Scheduled maintenance and cleaning are prerequisites for a long service life and trouble-free operation.
WARNING
Risk of injury
Maintenance and repair work may be performed only by trained specialists who are particularly well trained and are
very familiar with the machine.
• In some cases, important safety devices do not function during service and maintenance work. Therefore, this type of
work requires particular caution.
• Electronic work may be performed only by a trained electrician.
• Maintenance must be performed only on machines that are switched off. Disconnect the machine from its power
supply (power source, welding power source) before performing any maintenance work.
• Ensure the machine cannot be switched on again.
• Always tighten any loose screw connections when performing maintenance and repair work.
DANGER
Improper operation can lead to serious injuries that could result in death.
The following instructions must be adhered to during all maintenance, servicing, assembly, disassembly and repair work:
• Switch off the power source.
• Close off the compressed air supply.
• Disconnect all electrical connections.
• Switch off the control device.
• Switch off the entire welding system.
DANGER
Electric shock due to defective cables
Risk of dangerous voltages if cables are damaged or improperly installed: This can lead to serious injuries that could result
in death.
• Check all live cables and connections for proper installation and damage.
• Replace any damaged, deformed, or worn parts.
NOTICE
• The specified maintenance intervals are standard values and refer to single-shift operation.
• Only qualified personnel are permitted to perform work on the device or system.
• Always wear your personal protective equipment when performing maintenance and cleaning work.
The following maintenance schedule represents the absolute minimum required. Maintenance at more frequent intervals is
necessary if the device is operated under harsh ambient conditions. Replace damaged parts immediately.
Component
Wheels – remove weld spatter
Guide rollers – check operability and clean as needed
Base plate – remove welding dust and metal shavings
Inspect welding torch mount, handle, base plate, and guide arm screws to ensure they
are firmly in place and tighten them as needed.
End switch – check for function
Control elements – check for function
