6.10 Adjusting the wheel lock

The wheel locks are activated via cables. If braking function is insufficient due to tyre or mate-
rial wear, the wheel lock must be readjusted. To do this, open the nuts on the wheel lock lever
component group on the lower frame and set the desired cable tension by loosening or tightening
the nuts. There should be approximately 3 mm between the open brake block and the outer wall
of the tyre. It is important to use the tension setting to position the brake block so that the rear
wheels are fully blocked when the wheel lock is locked.
Risk of accident as a result of insufficient or excessive tyre pressure Before start-
CAUTION
ing to use your wheelchair, check that the tyres are inflated correctly. The required air pressure
is printed on the side of the tyre. For rear wheels, it should be at least 75 bar. The wheel locks
are only effective with sufficient air pressure and proper adjustment (approx. 3 mm distance,
subject to technical changes).
Check the tyre air pressure and the effectiveness of the locking devices regularly. The

air pressure is indicated on the side wall of the tyre.
Ensure that all screws and nuts are properly retightened after making any adjust-

6.11 Installing the frame accessories (Fig. 53, 54)
The rear wheel adapter's hexagon exclusively serves the form-fit attachment of frame

accessories. Never try to loosen this connection using a wrench.
For subsequent installation of mounting accessories (anti-tipper, tip-assist, crutch holder, trans-
port wheels), first remove the rear wheels. First, proceed as described in section 6.3 until you
have loosened the U-shaped part. Next, completely remove the U-shaped part by pulling it
back (Figure 53). Place the holder for the frame accessories with the hexagonal clamp on the
hexagonal profile of the rear wheel axle (Figure 54, marking A) and tighten the clamp. Reinstall
all parts in reverse order. Now you can install the desired frame accessories on the holder, for
example: anti-tipper, crutch holder, tip-assist. The anti-tipper is the only frame accessory that
can be swung out of the way when it is not needed (see Section 5.1).
The correct torque for the screw (Figure 53) is 10 Nm.
