5.3 Transport wheels (Fig. 18)
With the rear wheels removed, the wheelchair can be used as a rolling base. This allows for
manoeuvring through very narrow passage ways (such as bathroom doorways or airplane
aisles).
Risk of accident as a result of unavailable wheel lock function� Please note that
CAUTION
once the rear wheels are removed, the wheel locks can no longer be activated!
5.4 Tip-assist (Fig. 19)
The tip-assist makes it easier for the attendant to tip the wheelchair (e.g., for pushing the chair
over a step).
5.5 Backpack (Fig. 20)
The backpack allows the user to carry objects. It can be easily hung on the push handles.
CAUTION
Risk of tilting or tipping over� A backpack and its contents attached to the backrest may cause the
wheelchair to become unstable and tilt/tip. Therefore Otto Bock recommends that two anti-tippers are
always deployed when using a backpack.
INfORMATION
Regarding the maximum weight of the backpack and its contents that can be used; this depends on
several factors such as adjustments made to the wheelchair and/or weight and sitting position of the
user. However the total combined weight of both the user and all accessories including the backpack
and its contents should not exceed the maximum load capacity (60Kgs) of the chair.
Before use the user/attendant must ensure the stability of the chair is checked.
