13 B 500/B 500-S Standard Version
The functions of the standard version are described in Section 9 "Adjustment Possibilities" and Section 11
"Putting into Operation".

14 Options and Accessories

The B 500 power wheelchair has been designed as a modular system. This means that other accessory
components can be added to the wheelchair. The complete range of accessory components are listed on the
Order Form and in the Wheelchair Accessories Catalog. Some important options are described in the following.

14.1 Lighting

The B 500/B 500-S power wheelchair can be optionally equipped with a set of lights. The set consists of two
rear lamps with integrated turn signals and two front light units consisting of lamp and turn signal. The lights,
turn signals as well as warning flasher are operated with keys located to the right and left of the horn key. The
activation of a turn signal is confirmed by a flashing arrow next to the speed level indicator.
Components to replace defective housing or lamps can be ordered from your authorized dealer. For information
on the incandescent bulbs please refer to Section 17 "Technical Data B 500/B 500-S". To change a defective
lamp, unscrew and remove the cover. Then press the lamp lightly inwards and turn it counter-clockwise. After
approximately a 90° rotation, the lamp can be pulled out (Fig.18, 19).

The rear lamps are attached on the right and left side of the wheelchair with spring-loaded lamellas. By exerting
slight pressure to the right, the lamp can be pulled forward to the left. The front lamps are protected against
damage with rubber bearings. For user transfer to and from the side of the wheelchair, the front light unit can be
folded down.

14.2 Suspension of the drive and caster wheels

(B 500 and B 500-S)
The B 500/B 500-S can be optionally equipped with a suspension system. One spring-damping element at each
of the two caster wheels increases the driving comfort, especially when driving on uneven terrain, and provides
for better adherence to the ground. This can be improved even further with spring-mounted drive wheels.
Ordering a suspension system is simple
the authorized dealer merely needs to know the patient weight in order
to determine the degree of spring damping.
