7.13 Completing the Fitting
CAUTION
Incorrectly secured screws. Falling due to breakage of load-bearing components caused by screw connections
coming loose.
• After completing all settings, the set screws in the tube adapter must be secured with Loctite® 241 before they
are tightened to the specified torque.
• The screws in the clamp bracket must not be secured but only tightened to the specified torque.
8 Attaching the optional cosmetic covers
If the 3B1/3B1=ST Knee Joint is fitted with a foam cover such as the 3S26, the following steps must be taken with
the receiver of the inductive charger (at the rear of the knee joint):
1. Remove the receiver of the inductive charger with the 4X258 Installation Tool from the mounting in the frame of the
knee joint by turning counter-clockwise (Fig. 1).
2. Use a suitable tool to shorten the 4X259 Installation Ring on the slotted side so that the length of the installation
ring is the same as the material thickness of the foam cover above the circular opening at the rear of the knee joint
(Fig. 2).
3. Cut a circular opening in the foam cover so that the 4X259 Installation Ring can be attached above the correspon-
ding opening in the frame of the 3B1/3B1=ST Knee Joint (Fig. 3).
4. Glue the 4X259 Installation Ring into the foam cover (Fig. 3).
5. Insert the receiver of the inductive charger into the 4X259 Installation Ring using the 4X258 Installation Tool
(Fig. 4). Ensure that the cable is stowed away securely (Fig. 4).
6. The receiver can now be covered by a stocking or similar covering of the foam cover (Fig. 5). The magnet holds
the charger regardless of this cover (Fig. 6).
