Trouble shooting
Please check the correct power supply.
Choose the right UTP cable. Use "unshielded twisted pair" (UTP) or "shileded
twisted pair" (STP) for RJ45 connections to establish the network: 100 Ω
category 3, 4 or 5 cables for 10MBps connections or 100 Ω category 5 cable
for 100MBps connections. Please make sure that the cable length does not
exceed 100 metres.
LEDs: Thanks to the LEDs the switch can easily be checked and problems
can fast be detected.
When the LEDs' signs are normal and all cables are connected properly, the
data packets, however, cannot be transmitted, please check teh configuration
or the status of the Ethernet device.
When using systems with an optical BIDI connector, the optical connectors
(transceiver) of type A must always be connected to type B (please refer to the
note on the type plate at the backside). When using systems with 2FX-ports,
the optical connector (transceiver) type A is always the upper connector.
Please check if the fiber optic cable is bent toostronglyand mind the bending
radius of the cable manufacturer. Otherwise the cable can be damaged and/or
the communication between the fiber optic converters cannot be guaranteed.
