If the network connection fails, the backup port automatically becomes the working
port in order to trouble-shoot.
The switch has got a DIP switch for setting it as ring master or to slave-mode. The
ring master is allowed to negotiate and give orders to the other switches within the
ring group. If there are two or more switches in the master mode, the software will
select the switch with the lowest MAC address as ring master. The DIP switch
activates the ring master mode and the ring master LED lights up.
The system also supports the "Coupling Ring" function, which connects two or
more ring groups and the "Dual Homing" function which prevents connection losses
between the ring group and the upper level or core switch respectively.
Enable Ring: Tick the box to activate the ring function.

Working Ports: Assign two ports to be the member ports. One of
them is the working port while the other one is the backup port. The system
decides automatically which port is the member or backup port.
Enable Coupling Ring: Tick the box to activate the coupling ring function.
Coupling port: Assign the member port. The connected rings normally
communicate via this port.
Control port: Assign the control port.
Enable Dual Homing: Assign one of the ports as dual homing ports. In one
ring group, there are exactly two dual homing ports. None of them may be
activated at the ring master. Dual homing only works when the ring function is
activated (see picture on page 19).
