RSTP Configuration

The Rapid Spanning Tree Protocol is a further development of the Spanning Tree
Protocol and offers a faster convergence after a change in topology. Furthermore,
the system supports STP and auto-detects the connected device with STP and
RSTP.

You can see the spanning tree information via the root bridge.

Please configure the RSTP status and then click

RSTP mode: Activate or deactivate the RSTP function before you
configure the corresponding parameters.

Priority (0-61440): The value that is used for identifying the root bridge.
The bridge with the lowest value has highest priority and is chosen as root.
If the value is changed you have to reboot the switch. According to the
standard rules of the protocol, the value has to be a multiple of 4096.

Max Age (6-40): The number of seconds a bridge waits until it tries to re-
configure, without receiving alerts of the spanning tree configuration
protocol. Please enter a value between 6 and 40.

Hello Time (1-10): The time in which the switch sends a BPDU packet in
order to check the current status of the RSTP. Please enter a value
between 1 and 10.

Forward Delay Time (4-30): The number of seconds the ports waits until
it switches from the RSTP Learning and Listening status to the Forwarding
status. Please enter a value between 4 and 30.
