IGMP

The Internal Group Management Protocol (IGMP) is an internal protocol of the
Internetprotocol (IP). IP controls the multicast traffic via switches, routers and hosts
that support IGMP. Activating the IGMP enables the ports to detect IGMP-queries
and reports and to manage the IP multicast traffic in the switch. The IGMP has 3
main types of messages which can be found in the table below:

You can activate the IGMP protocol and the IGMP query function here. Then you
see the IGMP snooping information in this section – different multicast group VID,
member ports and IP multicast addresses reach from 224.0.0.0 to 255.255.255.

A message of the IGMP router or switch which demands an answer
of all hosts in the multicast group.
A message of the host in order to indicate that it wants to be (or
already is) a member of a group within the report.
A message of the host in order to indicate that it has left a specific
multicast group.
